PLANET X fly-by would cause "atmospheric stripping"
Dear Friends:

Just read this story on National Geographic about the discovery of a planet that is flying so close to its host that it strips its atmosphere. Researchers on Planet X claim it is a fly-by and also that it is comet-like, similarly to this planet.

If Planet X is real (which I cannot confirm) this would be something to consider i.e. atmospheric stripping of our planet .

Here is the story link: [link to news.nationalgeographic.com]

Re: PLANET X fly-by would cause "atmospheric stripping"
I've heard that this has happened in the past. Stripping Mars and the moon of most of their atmospheres. Maybe Earth too? I don't know if it was the Kolbrin or possibly Immanuel Velikovsky's "Worlds in Collision" where it was said that men would "lose their breath" when it passed close by.

They also theorize that our atmosphere used to be denser and that's why large dinosaurs, pterosaurs, etc. lived in our past. They don't believe these giant creatures could survive our current atmosphere, let alone get off the ground in the case of the large pterosaurs.

If a planet came into the inner sol system every 3600 years do you really think you would be here debating if it did or not... short answer nope life on earth would never have gotten off its ass to this point in time.

Well, the sun is part of a binary system with a star named Gilese. But the closest it gets to Sol is 1 light year. Next visit in two million years. The entire orbit takes 28 million years.

The moon is too small to have enough gravity to have ever held onto an atmosphere. Mars doesn't have a magnetic field because it doesn't have a liquid core. Therefore, it's atmosphere has been stripped over eons by the solar wind. On earth, our magnetic field shields the atmosphere from being stripped away by the charged particles from the sun.

There simply is no evidence whatsoever that px exists, much less has ever made a trip through the inner solar system. The orbits of the inner planets have way too little eccentricity to have ever been majorly disturbed.

Velikovsky has been proven wrong many times over.

Have you ever read the theory that the earth did not receive rain before the Great Flood...could explain why Noah had such a tough time convincing the locals of the impending flood due to RAINS. It also fits in with the "Rainbow Covenant" God made "after" the flood....was that the FIRST rainbow?

Each "stipping" makes major changes...this time it's TRIAL BY FIRE....I guess we're down to the final layers!

Yes, Worlds in Collision talks about this event. Velikovsky claims that Mars had it's atmosphere ripped away by Venus on a very close encounter. Venus was a comet, Velikovsky claimed that Venus was "born" out of Jupiter, I think to fit into Babylonian (or Sumerian?) mythology. But James McCanney believes that Venus was a comet, temporarily captured by Jupiter's gravitational field, which escaped Jupiter's gravity and then headed in towards the sun. It had a couple of orbits with the sun, as noticed in the Mayan calendar that describes the 52-57 year event. Each orbit had close encounters with earth and mars as the orbit was very elliptical in shape. When Venus was finally "captured" by the sun it settled into a more circular orbit. The Venus event was described by nearly all ancient calendars and myths, and it has large significance in the esoteric societies.

Velikovsky was ridiculed by mainstream science primarily because he supported catastrophism which lies in direct opposition to the doctrine of uniformity which itself supports Darwin's theory of evolution. It is difficult to argue Velikovsky's theories in this forum and others since he made the mistake of making all kinds of conjectures about astronomy which were later determined to be way off base. However his work on history and the ancient calendar systems is very good. Unfortunately, Karl Sagan was used by the PTB and mainstream science to ridicule Velikovsky into the dustbin of scientific history.

It takes quite a bit more than a few seconds to flash freeze a woolly mammoth. It would take hours. They had thick fur, skin and fat. They were built to survive cold temps. I doubt they would notice temps of -250 for a few seconds.

I'm reading Worlds in Collision right now. I wonder if what they thought was Mars or Venus was really Nibiru and during one of its passes, Venus was captured by the sun. Maybe it was formerly one of Nibiru's satellites. I don't think because his conclusions were wrong that that makes all the information he collected unusable. There's so much mystery to our past.

I don't believe in the internet hype that it is due in 2012 or that it comes every 3600 years. I don't see how we can have any clear idea of when it is coming until we spot it. I think scientists need to find it first, before we can get a clear idea.

well they were flash frozen. at 1 degree above absolute 0 i have no idea how long it would take to freeze a mammoth. but do remember that their terrain became polar very shortly afterword. this is why the meat is still edible.
