Definitely TEXAS is Number 1!! Even Houston now has the worst air pollution of any city in the USA, bypassing even Los Angeles! Bush as governor ensured that big business only had to comply with pollution standards "voluntarily". Texas is a good example of what happens when such decisions that affect the quality of life are left up to private corporations seeking a quarterly profit!

I'd also include most of Dixie: Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas. These states may have natural beauty, but the people do their best to disregard and destroy it, since so many believe that the END TIMES are coming and God will refresh the earth (he'd have to use a super charged fire hose to flush out the damage the "proud" southerners have done). I also cannot stand the social inequality. There can be a lovely antebellum house followed by a tar paper shack. Evidently, the rich folk in the "big house" feel no compunction at Christian charity to help the less fortunate. It sickened my stomach.
