Anyone Successful at Astral Projection or OBE´s ?

Have tried for more than a decade. Never any luck. Leads me to believe that those who claim they have had them are full of it. (If it were posible you would think we would have verified it by now. Pretty easy to do).

When I was seven I broke my colarbone. A few times after that I would awake from a dream with my nose inches from the ceiling fixture. Once I realized where I was I would fall back onto my bed, and end up in excruciating pain with my colarbone throbing from the impact. I can still remember each instance so clearly that I convinced I was out of body. Thats the only time.

It´s difficult at first because you have to learn to detach your spirit body from the organic body. You really have to learn to feel your spirit body inside your organic body. When you seperate, you´ll feel a tingling sensation that turns into a vibration. It´s easier when you smoke the ole peace pipe, the mexican stuff (hayuasca?) will force it on you and make you violently ill as well. It´s not like dreaming, it´s kind of like being in a high definition video.

I totally forgot about binaural sound. That´s a great option.

What you can easily notice are things in your dreams that KEY you into them being dreams. That´s a point when you can CHANGE the dream into something more.

Whatever your excercises before you sleep may be, you should focus on what you want to attain above all. You _will_ start to notice dreams for being what they are while you´re in a dream state, and it´s at that point that you can make the dream something more.

I´d advise you start there. You aren´t just going to do one excercise or another and blast into the atral plane.. First learn to realize you´re dreaming when you´re dreaming and changing that dream into something more "lucid".. go from there.

I have had two OBEs. The first one was absolutely amazing!!!!!( I am not including any that happened because of trauma). I woke up and somehow KNEW that I could leave my body. I sat up out of it and stood up. I was so blown away that I layed back down into my body and back out several times. Then I thought to explore my room to see if I could still feel things, etc. I felt like I had a body, I could even wiggle my toes and FEEL the carpet but my phsical feet were still in the bed. What was really weird is, I was in two places at once because I could still feel my body yet I was standing beside it. ONe third of my awareness was in my body and my spirit felt much more real. Bi-location. I stroked my arm and could feel it with my "fingers" yet my arm laying in the bed could feel my own touch. Then I went to my closet and felt my clothes, to see if I could. Yes. I left my body in the bed and walked THROUGH the door to the living room and right up to my husband to see if he could see or sense me. I waved my "hands" in front of his face and no luck. But, my one year old child looked at me and said"Mama". So he could see me!!!! I went back to my room thru the door and felt like floating up thru my roof to be over my house and in the treetops. Well, when I emerged thru the roof, my neighborhood was not there. I came up thru grass and was behing a beautiful red barn and some woods and basically farmland. I didn´t want to go too far since I didn´t know where I was so I came back down into my room and decided to go out my window, THROUGH the glass. All the while, I could sense what felt like an ET behing me, like he was teaching me that this was possible.

I sensed that I was not allowed to go out the window, I got the feeling I was like a child in a playpen for my own safety. So I tricked this being and dove out the window! He caught me halfway out and what I saw was a normal winter morning on some American street, but It was FALL where I was. That was cool. It was not dreamlike at all! Very lucid. The light was murky, tho. Anyway< I flew around my room awhile then back to my body and went out and excitedly told my husband all about it. Interestingly, I tried it again on my own the next night and easily got out of my body BUT this time I had no control. I just kinda rolled and swooped all over the room, couldn´t even walk. So somehow that being had held the energy for me. That was in 1995 and I haven´t tried it since. But it was really cool!

For those of you have ben able to get out. What does it "feel" like.

The one thing I always have concerns about is "breathing" WHen you are out do you feel the need to breath or do you notice anything like that?

like in a dream I don´t realize I´m breathing or feel the urge to. Is it similar?

Oh ya that mexican stuff you are not talkinga bout Salvia are you? I´ve tried that stuff, no luck, other than some interesting highs.

Rebecca thats one interesting story. Thx for it. It answered my questions I had burning in side like..

If I were able to go out I´d go over to someone I know and see if I could physically affect something or someone. I would try and go by my dog first to see if I could get a reaction.

The fact that the child saw you is very interesting. Did you know that children until I think its the age of 3 or 4 are in theta to delta waves adn are never into alpha fully conscious brainwaves til then? Maybe their reality can see you?

OBE´s are very real. Have experienced several. Never tried to, just happened.

Rebecca: I did look in a mirror, my first inclination, and suddenly I went through the mirror, up through the ceiling/roof and out into the yard.....then sort of floated up among the trees, got my bearings and figured out how to fly. I soared, for what seemed like hours. Must admit the landing was a bit rough....sort of fell into my body and felt like falling off a high bed. I was absolutely in shock the first time.....tried to talk to my husband about it and he laughed until tears rolled down his face, finally saying: Ok if you did it, you did it...it just sounded so fantastic and somehow funny.....then he wanted to know how I did it!!! Funny thing.....I have no idea....but I remember every detail....very vivid and as someone else stated light a bit murkey but still very visible.

I´ve had dreams of flying or that I could fly. I´ve had dreams about every bloody thing you can imagine. Some very realistic but untrue.

In fact some of the vivid ones take place here near my house and in fact have never happened or never could happen. Thats why I always lean towars the fact that OBE´s are just dreams that are really realistic. I want to know whether or not they are genuine or just dreams.

Hi AC, I too have had many "fantastic" dreams and flying dreams....usually I am accompanied by some sort of being.......but these are very different from being out of the body. In an OBE, you suddenly realize that you are looking back at yourself.....you see YOU lying in bed in the pjs or gown you had on when you went to sleep, and in one instance I tried to poke the "me" lying in bed but "me" was totally motionless. That was when I thought of the mirror, looked in saw a sort of watery version of me and was suddenly sucked into the mirror and UP through the roof. After the adventure I suddenly began to worry about getting back into the house and went to the window and saw "me" still asleep. I closed my eyes and sort of dove through the wall and into my body and actually felt the "re-entry". So in my experience....flying dreams, fantastic dreams are very different from OBE.

Hi teacher: Not to worry....don´t think anyone would be interested in my little experiences. I have no fear......truth is always best. Besides I have never been able to MAKE OBE´s....just happens. Won´t deny truth of experience, unless they kill me......still telling it like it is.

So the event is something very vivid that you remember for the rest of your life? Or is it like a real cool dream you had that you kinda remember but its fuzzy. I´m trying to prove the distinction between dreams and reality. Well whatever reality there really is.

Oh ya whoever said they saw that farm type environment - I´ve had that exact situation when I was taking Salvia Divinorum I kept feeling like it was autumn and I was on a farm near a red barn and there were these people beckoning me to "come here, come on!" but my feet melted into the ground and I sunk like quicksand. I remember pumpkins around and leaves etc.. Anytime you do salvia you feel that second "person" with you. I always thought that was your subconscious. The person you talk to you your head when you think you are talking to god. The Ego..

Hi AC, I can only relate MY experience and tell you that OBE is very different from a dream. Although some pretty interesting things happen in dreams....and sometimes I am able to "drive" the dream where I want to but still this is not OBE. Believe me....as flabberghasted as it feels at first you will definitely KNOW that you are out of your body. The trick is to stay calm, don´t panic, don´t be afraid.....just go with it....experience it....and "hold on" to the moment and it just happens. Yep that was over 20 years ago and I remember it in vivid detail. I didn´t take herbs, didn´t drink, or take even prescription drugs.....I will tell you that I was almost euphorically happy at the time, very much in love, and loving every moment of life...and "boom" it just happened.

To show a difference in dreams or OBE.....I once had a (I´ll call it a dream)that consisted of a "light" being visiting me. He was the most beautiful creature I had ever imagined, all gold and gossamer(and winged), definitely male, and the love imminating from this entity was so amazing, it felt like total fulfillment, bliss so complete...it was addictive. Now all this happened in a matter of seconds...he spoke to me, saying he was saddened that he could only come to me as light(made me wonder if I knew him but just couldn´t remember)and then he was gone. I was so panicked, I stood up in bed and ran into the wall, very solid wall and woke from the DREAM.......not an OBE.......see....a big difference.

I observe mostly and I get in peoples way. I starlted a child onetime. It seems I don´t have purpose and am at the whim of I don´t what.

For me my OBE was different then what you all are speaking of. My spirit was in a ball like. I could see everything around me, and I mean everything to include my body. It was like being a very small floating ball of light. I did still control my body but, I could do things with it in that state that most people would not belive.

Startling people and getting in people´s way seems to go along with the experience. At one point I really got the giggles because I thought I was invisible, but still able to function and was sort of amused at people´s reactions to being touched or just the puzzled look on their faces, as if they knew something was "about" but couldn´t see or understand. Then there was one person(I recognized but didn´t know personally) who really startled me by saying: "I can´t see you, but I know you are there, go away and leave me alone"!! I was so shocked that he knew I was there I fell very suddenly back into my body.

I can´t say I ever felt like I had no purpose....I was too busy having fun....like a child riding a bicycle, at first it takes a lot of effort and then it´s like breathing, just happens.

The poster that talked about being a ball of light and able to do fantastic things is very interesting. I think in my OBE´s I thought of myself as still just me only in a sort of transluscent way....in the mirror looking sort of watery....in a "Monet" way.

how about breathing when you are out of body can you consciously breath? or do you even think about it?

As a ball of thought, you have no need to breath and you can see that this reality that we live in inside our bodies is the dream.

6817, what an interesting question.....actually I never thought about it....don´t know if there was no need to breathe....or was breathing normally but I know I was able to do most anything I wanted to and had no problems with breathing....just didn´t think about it. I would guess that there was no need to breathe....since that was my soul energy that was experiencing the event.....physical body was still in bed breathing normally.

3611 EUREKA!!! YES......it´s as if for the first time you "get it".......that the physical life we think is so real....is just another dream, another part of our experience. The spiritual, or soul consciousness is the reality of who we really are. We have no need for lungs, no need for cell phones, no need for anything!! It is total freedom.....no boundaries....you can´t get hurt, can´t drown, can´t break a bone.....everything becomes effortless.....and then we realize how "heavy" the physical is, as if moving through mud....totally glued in the physical.....but it is all for a purpose.....we have to understand the physical life, graduate and move on. Well.....that´s my interpretation anyway.
