I was sitting in my living room with my back to a western-facing window when I noticed a bright flash of light that seemed to come from outside. My daughter and two friends were in an adjacent room and they said the "sun flickered" for a second.
It was almost like the surge of light you get when a light bulb burns out.
Did anyone else notice anything? We don't live near an airfield and there were no large vehicles, trucks or construction machines moving around outside. |

Oregon here. Last week I was working in my yard, and there was a bright flash of light. As with your situation, this did not come from traffic ... not a chance of that. I thought to myself at the time, it was the sun. From what I understand, the sun is doing some strange things at the present time ... I decided it must have something to do with that. . .

It could be Daytime Iridium Flares...pretty cool stuff. The link will allow you to put your location and go back 48 hrs Have fun [ link to www.heavens-above.com] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. |

OMG, I saw it. Thought it was my TV reflecting on the balcony doors! TV faces wall! Live on GOM Panhandle. Then thought it was lightning, but sun was out! Creepy Shit. |

I'd guess meteor, or inter-cloud lightning. Iridium flares don't get bright enough to cast a shadow during daytime. |
