Did anyone else notice a bright flash of light at about 2 or 3 p.m. EST today (20th)?

I was sitting in my living room with my back to a western-facing window when I noticed a bright flash of light that seemed to come from outside. My daughter and two friends were in an adjacent room and they said the "sun flickered" for a second.

It was almost like the surge of light you get when a light bulb burns out.

Did anyone else notice anything? We don't live near an airfield and there were no large vehicles, trucks or construction machines moving around outside.

Oregon here.

Last week I was working in my yard, and there was a bright flash of light. As with your situation, this did not come from traffic ... not a chance of that. I thought to myself at the time, it was the sun. From what I understand, the sun is doing some strange things at the present time ... I decided it must have something to do with that.

OMG, I saw it. Thought it was my TV reflecting on the balcony doors! TV faces wall! Live on GOM Panhandle. Then thought it was lightning, but sun was out! Creepy Shit.

I'd guess meteor, or inter-cloud lightning. Iridium flares don't get bright enough to cast a shadow during daytime.
