Here's what I'm saying -- I have been on 20 mgs of Lipitor for a year and my sister has been on 40 mgs for about 7 years - but her liver is O.K. This is the dilemma --- How come some of us are so sensitive to these drugs and others aren't...
I know people who are taking maybe 12 or more tablets at a sitting and seem to still be functioning....

It does make you think.... I do have an opinion but will reserve it until I read someone elses theories...

There's a thread on GLP about cancer and holistic ways of treating it....The poster suggests eating uncooked green vegetables and wheatgrass as an alternative...to radiotherapy and chemo.. There is a good discussion and a lot of personal experience re friends and relatives who have tried both and still died... But one lady was using all methods -- giving herself every chance... I remember the man (Dr Jim ? will get his second name from my sister) who beat cancer through meditation. He had lost a leg aready to the disease but refused the chemo... visulaised the white blood cells conquering the diseased cells if I recall...He aso went on a purifying diet... --- so it can be done...We can cure ourselves ... It takes determination....
We recently had a case here in Western Australia where a woman had rectal cancer and she was being treated by a naturopath ... Her husband also was into alternative medicines...The woman suffered great pain -- and died in pain... There was a court case -- In this instance the woman was coerced into the treatment and had no say.
I think that the patient her/himself ,must be the instigator and have the willpower to follow through for the holistic approach to work...

at my local health food store they sell supplements that support the thyroid,iodine supplements,and you cadn make dietary changes...GOD made an herb for every ailment of the planet...you just have to educateyourself.org and find it!

It's from all the nuclear testing that was done in the Nevada Test Site. Thyroid is one of the first organs that the radiation attacks (at least from what I know) That's why one would take KI - Potassium Iodide if a nuclear event were to happen.

yes - i was salting my food with iodised salt quite heavily for a while - but now realise that it is not that simple ....im more inclined to believe that its more about identifying what is causing the thyroid gland to get off balance.....

Anyone want to discuss Diabetes? The sugar thingy is quite a mystery also.. I am diabetic and have to watch it all the time... Yesterday went off my diet and ate a few no-nos in the late afternoon- but the sugar reading this morning was not too high... On other occasions when I have eaten just green vegetables and chicken and drank water for my last meal of the day - the sugar reading can be high.. I dont get it>> Does stress have anhything to do with high sugar readings???

Long talk with elderly lady friend yesterday.. just recovering from a big fall - fractured pelvis in 3 places... the Doctor gave her an injection (think it was cortisone) to help with her bones...She has had many breakages... Seems to be that old people have very brittle bones..Am
wondering if huge doses of calcium in natural products would in fact help this condition.,... I do take calcium supplements myself...
