 I did a bit of research on THYROID STORM and I beleive it does occur if you overdose on IODINE but affects people with HYPERTHYROIDISM not HYPOTHYROIDISM ... Correct me if I am wrong please.... For the most part yes, but Hashimoto's is a different beast. Can cause Hypo and Hyper cycling, depending on what is affecting T3 and T4 levels. Toxic Nodules, too much metabolized medication, or Graves concurrent with Hashi's can cause thyroid storm. Search "Hashimoto's and Thyroid Storm"
