SOHO is currently in a keyhole, this prevents communication at times. During this time, NASA takes the oppurtunity to run a bakeout on the CCD's to improve performance due to degration by solar particles. SOHO should return to normal between August 2nd and August 7th.

ah..i always wondered about that. i've seen some monster things on haarp so if they are hiding stuff, yikes!!
makes sense what you say as i know how idiotic they are about doing heinous crimes and trying to make everything look legal.

I've had the Magnetometer Chain link on this computer for a long time. I even checked it earlier today and the angels were playing their H a A R p like crazy. Now when I check it says FORBIDDEN to access from my server. Weird.

Over time, many types of CCDs (Charge-Coupled Devices) used to detect EUV radiation are degraded by contamination of heavy ions from cosmic/solar particle radiation (interfering with the doping of the chip), deposits and polymerisation of deposits on the surface and, finally, trapped charges (again interfering with the doping of the substrate). These forms of degradation reduce the sensitivity of the detector. Fortunately, by heating the CCD over an extended time period, some of these effects can be reduced. Heating the CCD to improve its performance is called "baking out" the CCD. Since EIT would be unable to do "business as usual" during keyholes, they schedule their bakeouts during periods when data loss is inevitable.

Also even though its in a keyhole, some low-rate transmissions can still take place most of the time. Thats how some of the information on that page is available.

Just checked SOHO, the most recent image is from the 25th, all the images are down with CCD Bakeout on them!

It's hot! Weather is freaking out, we had a mini inland typhoon blow through here Sunday. Very strange for around here, the clouds were boiling and the rain was a sheet of water and the wind was hard and fast! It came and went in a matter of an hour!

Yes we have had some wild storms in the area so far too, and its not even August yet. Regardless of what the cause is this summer is turning out to be quite active.

The graph shows electrons coming from the sun, mostly,

The Yellow line and Red line are data lines from the Goes 13 satellite, the other lines, blue and purple are from the sensors on the Goes 11 satellite.

These sensors read relativistic or high energy electrons that cause dielectric charging of satellites. When the levels get too high, a warning is sent to satellite companies and those interested that it is time to move or protect their satellites from harm.

The yellow line is a reading of electron volts within the range of .08 Mega electron Volts or greater, presumably to about 2 MeV where the readings are then recorded by the red line.

When electrons come from the sun, they can vary in their speeds and thus impart different energy levels when they hit an object. Thus the electrons moving faster usually come from more energetic sun processes, like solar flares.

What the yellow line is telling us is that there is a rise in the number of electrons within that range. It is the blue and red lines that bring in the heavier charges.

These electrons eventually hit our magnetosphere, and reach the poles. When the charts are reaching higher levels, a nice aurora can usually be seen at lower latitudes, as the electrons overwhelm the magnetosphere and come in and react with our upper atmosphere, the ionosphere, there, they interact with high altitude gases that have been stripped of their electrons, they cause these gases to vibrate and react and glow like neon lights.

As for earthquakes, It's been an observation of mine that when these are at elevated levels, we tend to have more earthquakes. Perhaps it is the xrays that sometimes also occur at these levels that do it, and these are just incidental. I'm still observing, seeing if there is a correlation. So far, I believe there is one.
