No it would not. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051985Because the moon has no atmosphere. What does The Atmosphere have to do with anything? The Atmosphere is transparent? The Atmosphere is thinnest up high and most dense at ground level, by your admission the Blue of the air (atmosphere) would also be Blue on the ground and picture taken from above (U-2's) (ISS) (Satellites) would only show the earth as Blue, you would not be able to see the color of the ground or the oceans. BUT WE DO -- and we do because air (atmosphere) is transparent. Why is the sky blue OP? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051985Its the color of outer-space when its illuminated by the sunlight. From the Sun to the earth all of the millions of miles of outer-space in between is the color of our blue sky because the sunlight illuminates all of that outer space to reach the earth. We only see the nighttime sky on account of our axis when earth spins like top and the area you live on rotates. |

They found the missing Lunar Orbitar Tapes a few years ago in an abandoned building at Moffet Federal Airfield. This is footage originaly obtained for the purpose of finding suitable landing areas for Apollo 11 and other technical data, at that time this was considered top secret, because the satellite technology was advanced and they did'nt want the USSR to know their capabilities. Since finding the 48.000 pounds of 70mm tape they have had to refurbish the original obselete tape machines in order to digitize the old footage. To this day, the process of decoding the data is an ongoing project. [link to www.thelivingmoon.com] |

BUT WE DO -- and we do because air (atmosphere) is transparent. Light of a particular color is characterized by its frequency and wavelenth. The higher the frequency, the more blue it appears. Sunlight is made up of all colors that, when mixed together, produce white light. You may have seen a rainbow or the prism experiment where the white light is split up into several colors. The earth's atmosphere is filled with minute dust and water particles that act like a filter, scattering the light rays. The rays of light with the longer wavelengths, such as reds and yellows, tend to pass more easily through the atmosphere, while the rays with the shorter wavelengths, like blues and indigos, tend to be randomly scattered more easily. These more easily dispersed shorter light rays are what give the sky its blue color. Red skies at sunrise and sunset are caused by the same phenomenon. When the light hits the Earth at an angle it has more of the atmosphere to go through; this increases the filtering effect and that is why you see a red sky. Unless you can disprove the existence of photons? Even so, the existence of the spectrum can be proven. Can you provide an alternative explanation for the colors viewed at sunset and sunrise? Why is the sky blue OP? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1010900Its the color of outer-space when its illuminated by the sunlight. We only see the nighttime sky on account of our axis when earth spins like top and the area you live on rotates. That is incorrect OP. The sky is blue because of the Rayleigh effect. Its not Radiowaves? The earth's atmosphere is filled with minute dust and water particles that act like a filter, scattering the light rays. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051985Moisture in air have a ceiling limit of high high they climb. Look up at the skies, see the clouds? That's the limit moisture in the air rises because that is where the clouds collect. I did tell you that I didn't buy your brand of academics. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051985My friend, here is where you throw caution at the wind and it bites you back. If what you explained thus far was all true, then by this last statement of sunset being at angle and reflecting that light from the dust and moisture and gasses and whatever else those phony scientists hallucinated earth SKIES would ALWAYS be RED at SUNSET because the angle is always the same day after day after day. BUT WE DON'T SEE A RED SKY EVERY SUNSET OR SUNRISE -- DO WE? You claim sunlight makes space an opaque blue? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1051985How...? Can you describe the process? Just look at the sun in the sky. From earth to the sun all of that outer-space is blue. Its blue because its Blue around the sun as well. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1010900[link to www.thelivingmoon.com] Does the clip show the THOUSANDS of miles of outer-space between the Moon and the earth the color Blue like our skies? The footage is black and white. Try and understand the basic science of it, the Earth, like some of the other planets and bodies in space, have an atmosphere, an area made up of many different particles, gas, vapor, and dust, all of these reflect light and other invisible rays like X-rays ect. Some of the planets, like our Moon don't have an atmosphere, there is no particulate which can reflect light, nothing, just a vacuum. In August 1960 Joe Kettinger set the altitude record for manned ballon flight, 102.800 feet, he parachuted back to earth, if you watch the footage shot from his camera, you can clearly see the edge of our atmosphere and how it turns from blue to pitch black.
