DO NOT call yourself African!

Calling yourself the name given to you by Aryan language speaking barbarians deprives you of your true identity.

Re: How many more generations of Black Americans can justify calling themselves AFRICAN Americans?
anyone claiming to be black, white, pacific islander, african american, or a uscitizen admits they are a subject of congress ...

anyone else, well, just calls themselves their name ... and doesn't let others label them ...

best example is you'll call a black guy a african american ... and he says no i'm from madagascar .....

yet americans have no nationality since the civil war ...

isn't that a ironic twist ?

I hope that in my lifetime they settle for simply calling themselves "Americans". Isn't that the point of equality? Wasn't that the goal of the civil rights movements, to have us all consider ourselves equals? Why identify oneself primarily by race? Isn't that backwards thinking? peace

Most of them couldnt find Africa on a map. Most of them dont have any cultural connection to the continent of their ancestors. Most of them can hardly speak english let along any of their ancestral languages. And, most modern africans that I know laugh at the posturing and "blackness" of their american "cousins".

How long can they go on claiming this victimhood status?

Wasn't enough eh?

OK.

How about some word origins.

I bet you don't know that the word Africa is actually a Roman word meaning Land to the South West. It's based on a cardinal direction. They called the waste land surrounding conquered Carthage, Africa because they wanted the people they conquered to lose all knowledge of their identity.

Africa was never the name of a people.

From ED TV (1999)

I feel that Ed (TV) is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is now a moral good in this country. It's its own virtue.

Re: How many more generations of Black Americans can justify calling themselves AFRICAN Americans?
It's incredible that vaunted scholars (while determining the origin of the word African) missed one tiny detail, well two actually.

AFRICUS is the name of a Latin wind god of their [Latin tribe's] "di indigetes" pantheon.

In other words, Africus is a wholly ARYAN language construct that has absolutely nothing to do with black people.

It is simply one of the Romans' cardinal wind deities. You ever seen one of these:?

(Cardinal Wind Directions)

Well when the Romans were still usurping black indigenous tribes in Gaul, Spain, Corsica and Sicily, instead of letters like N for North, they had wind gods. North was called Aquilo, Auster (as in Australia) was South. The Southwest wind was called Africus.

If you look at a map of the Roman Empire you will notice the tiny province of Africa is Southwest of Rome and Italy.

Surrounding Africa is Libya to its south, Cyrene to its East, Numidia to its west. It doesn't even reach the borders of Egypt.

You can find all of this information on the internet or in books. {snip}

Please remember while surfing the web that Wikipedia will contain misleading articles as will 70% of the sites you come across.

There was no tribe called Afr or Afri or anything like this. Any source claiming this is pushing disinformation on you and neglecting a simple fact. Di indigetes means indigenous which means from the people. Africus is from the Di Indigetes Latin Pantheon; by their own admission the Romans themselves confirm that "Africa" is a NATIVE latin word.

Now any black person who reads this has a duty to correct any black person calling him or herself African.

Forever.

They don't have to make sense of anything. They make no sense whatsoever as it is. They don't have to change that.

How long can they go on standing around with their hand out waiting for some white person to put something of value in it??? They've been doing that for generations!

You're so easily fooled!!!!

Wake up.

You white are just as deluded as blacks.

Do you think you've been told the truth yet?

They don't tell you that the blacks you call African Americans are actually descended from the original inhabitants of the lands you call America.

That's right.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 980803

I know this is difficult to take in.

Try to accept it in its most simple form.

Almost everything you've been told about history is a lie.

The Americas were home first to black people.

Every continent was.

The Spanish Conquistadores when they arrive in the Americas MET BLACK PEOPLE hiding from "Indians."

They found the everywhere, in the Caribbean and in South America.

In fact, there is evidence to suggest the whole world was peopled by one black race who all spoke and wrote in the same language.

Now...

About the word "Africa" which is derived from Africus.

Let me repeat.

The term di indigetes means indigenous. It actually excludes adopted gods, as the word di novensides caters for those.

This precludes the term Africus from ever having been the name of any conquered tribe.

Should I repeat this?

Africus is a word used first by ancient Greeks and Tribal Latins (whites) to denote the cardinal direction South West.

The word was NOT adopted from any conquered tribe. Africus is the word of an indigenous Aryan speaking people.

So that you can appreciate this, think of Arizona, or Arid Zone, named thus by white people who acquired the lands and named it as they saw it.

Likewise, when the Romans acquired Carthage, feeling loath to continue to use that name (it struck fear in the hearts of Romans), they simply called the land Africa (feminine of Africus) meaning land to the South West.

As long as The Man (who is middle aged and white) keeps holding them down.

Yeah I know, in theory the black man has the same options, same chances and is no longer held back because of his skin color. It’s a theory.

Except in practice they are under qualified, over qualified, or have a bad habit of putting in an application just as the position is filled.

It is like this, while no one is admitting that they are not hiring a black person because they are black, finding many other good excuses to not hire them, the fact remains that they took one look at the color of a person's skin and make a judgment call and refuse to hire the person.

There are still mostly black schools that someone just manages to nearly always end up at the bottom of the budgetary spending for the district. There are nearly all black neighborhoods that frankly if you are black you really cannot get out of it without a sponsorship.

It takes money to make money, and poverty breeds poverty.

Alternatively, are you expecting a welfare check to pay for higher education? Do you honestly think a pel-grant gets you a degree in anything useful? Moreover, those Government Loans, think a black person who is born into poverty really going to be accepted for a "student loan" when they apply? Maybe they will not be denied but when they hear its tens of thousands of dollars that equates to millions of dollars for the middle class person who looks at thousands as if they are pocket change.

Two black men walking down the street in a white neighborhood. The white couple on the same side of the street will cross the street.

IF those two black men are not pulled over for questioning by the cops... they are two black men in a white neighborhood.

Go to nearly any big city. If you are white, you can hail a cab no problem. Now try it when you are black. I had plenty of black friends in big cities that just could not capture a cab, I on the other hand being white as white could raise my hand in ANY neighborhood and hail a taxi. Funny trick to pull is for a white person to hail one for a black man to use it ticks the taxi driver off big time.

So while you are ticking off these cultural connections and pointing out the lack of real education in the USA (Which also affects stupid white hicks like yourself) you are forgetting that people like you see black skin and don't let the person wearing that skin stand up and walk along side of you, instead you beat them down - maybe no longer with baseball bats but you certainly let your mouth over load your ass all the time.

I'm still a human and consider you a brother or sister regardless of your pigmentation or culture until you move out of what I consider universal culture truth. Re: How many more generations of Black Americans can justify calling themselves AFRICAN Americans?
Most of them couldnt find Africa on a map. Most of them dont have any cultural connection to the continent of their ancestors. Most of them can hardly speak english let along any of their ancestral languages. And, most modern africans that I know laugh at the posturing and "blackness" of their american "cousins".

How long can they go on claiming this victimhood status?

If you could pose this in a slightly more racist way we could get some really gutteral reactions.

It's a pigmentation issue. Largely influenced by cultural and socio-economic disfunction - THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS RACE. I can claim I'm the King of all Undinia and wear a funny hat. Does this make it so? Can this go on to inform every action and thought I have for the rest of my life?

we still are africans and have a natural connection to the continent no matter what differences of cultures. aint nothing changed. the only thing that separate us is ocean. also whatever the slaves brought from africa is still practiced today...carnival, voodoo, etc...

You're just as clueless as anyone else here.

The Celts were blacks.
