NLP Mind Control Con-Artists Strike Again
I was out shopping for a new car yesterday, and this little salestard, a salesman approached me and started a conversation.

Not more than 5 minutes later, this snake tried proven NLP Mind Control methods to inject the idea that he was my best friend and would get me a great deal.

It was only my religious indoctrination in the psychological arts during my time as a member of the clergy, that built up my defenses to this type of psy-attack. However, this was the first time that I have ever seen this technology used to sell cars.

Before walking out of the dealership, that crafty salesman also tried to plant the idea directly into my subconscious that I needed to pay sticker cause he could get me a great interest rate.

Note: If you are not aware of the power of NLP to control your mental processes, google "NLP Mind Control", and open your eyes.

Any thinking person can tell the NLP crap right away. At the first sign of that crap, I use it right back. And they know exactly what one is doing and stop the conversation.
These aholes really do train and are using it on people who are unsuspecting. The lowest creeps there are.

I ain't going to waste a lot of time on this thread so i'll keep it short.

(I tried finding an old reply of mine where i wrote a more extensively but couldn't find it)

NLP is a great study, it's psychology V2.0 sorta say.

It teaches how your brain works and how you can overcome barriers, it's like hacking your brain.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming!!

At the same time, because you learn so much about yourself about how you were programmed by your parents, school, society, etc., you automatically you learn a lot about how other people's brain woks.

In a nutshell:
Why do people think they way they think?
Why do people do the things they do?

These are just two of the countless questions NLP addresses.

Now, just like Every other study in psychology it can be used for good or bad.

For example: Edward Bernays, the nephew of Sigmund Freud, was the one who put Sigmund Freud on the map.

Why?

Because Edward Bernays found that the techniques Sigmund Freud used to 'cure' people also could be used for marketing-purposes.

Sigmund Freud's work wasn't any better then many of his colleagues But because Edward Bernays put him on the map, we all know Sigmund Freud.

NLP is taking what we do subconsciously and make it conscious so you can work with it, better your self.
It's about awareness of what we do automatically, like body language for example(one of the countless applications).

NLP is great, it's enlightening and i would recommend everybody to follow to study it.

Are people getting played by people who have a better understanding of psychology in general, yes and it's a shame.

But the goal of every salesman(which of course include politicians, they are salesman) use every tool they can find which could improve their sales.

Hate the player, not the Game!

Peace!

Any player that uses it with bad intentions.

It's like your heavily debated gun-laws.

You can use a gun to protect your family and property or you can use it to kill innocent people in a rampage.

I can't believe I've never heard of this. It makes a bit of sense and I can even think of a few times it may have been attempted on me.

I thought this was neat either way.

NLP is annoying as hell. Stupid people use it as a replacement for thinking and having a discussion. I cant wait till this fade is over and people can go back to being honest.

I am sorry but that doesn't make any sense.

And it won't be fading very soon.
Like any empirical study(like psychology) it will only advance. It's really a science.

If it will fade, it will be because it will be replaced by something better, something more advanced.

Just like RET(REBT).

Also, rhetorical question here: When where people ever honest?

siren2 shill siren2

Its not a fade. Perhaps the label is relatively new but this is a time honored scientific technique gong back to the earliest dawn of civilization. Knowledge of this is key to understand how people are manipulated and to protect yourself from manipulation. Thanks for playing, shill.

Derren Brown is very good at NLP Hypnosis.

Re: NLP Mind Control Con-Artists Strike Again
I swear Barack Obama read my book "Mind Control Language Patterns"

[link to www.MindControlLanguagePatterns.com]

NOTE: I have on political intention in posting this speech. It is simply a look at it's use of persuasion... and it's quite awesome!!

This is an excerpt from a speech by Senator Barack Obama - New Hampshire Primary
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 Nashua, New Hampshire

My comments on the persuasive power of this are in (bold).

We've been asked to pause for a reality check. (This is an indirect suggestion to "pause" i.e., to stop thinking or rationalizing) We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. ("We" implies a "you and me" thus uniting us. From our detached "pause" we can look at the concept of false hope.)

But in the unlikely story that is America, ("unlikely" allows us to feel unique and special as Americans, linking us to the myth of a people who thrive against all odds) there has never been anything false about hope. (This is a different use of the words "false" and "hope" and reframes "false hope" in a new way) For when we have faced down impossible odds (these impossible odds are unmentioned but assumed and affirms that we are unique) ; when we've been told that we're not ready, or that we shouldn't try, or that we can't, generations of Americans have responded with a simple creed that sums up the spirit of a people.

Yes we can.
(A call to action but even more; a call to rebellion against those who try to discourage us.)

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
(Evocation of "destiny"; that we are the central figures around whom great things can occur.)

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom through the darkest of nights.
(Offering anecdotal evidence to support our rebellion against any oppressor.)

Yes we can.
(Repetition. Hammer it into the mind and link it with powerful and positive emotions.)

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness. (More strong images of perseverance against security and reason.)

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballot; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land. (Wow! This one is POWERFUL! Without stating who the "King" is it providing clues of "mountaintop" and "the Promised Land" and he allows us to connect the dots on our own. This makes us to feel as if we have knowledge of an inner secret.)

Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can. (Powerful use of repetition.)

And so tomorrow, as we take this campaign South and West; (in itself this brings people back to earth... to the reality of the campaign. This would be bad if it were not for the preceding emotional high we've been brought to) as we learn that the struggles of the textile worker in Spartanburg are not so different than the plight of the dishwasher in Las Vegas; that the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; (This creates the feeling of bonding between different people. A feeling that we are not so different from one another.)

we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, (Providing three ways of saying "we are one people" and thus clobbering us with repetition again) we will begin the next great chapter in America's story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea ("coast to coast; from sea to shining sea" evokes patriotic memories of the song "God Bless America" ... all without saying it explicitly!) – Yes. We. Can.

(Yes, we can! There is little more persuasive than a simple phrase repeated and instilled with emotion. It is the same effect that Hitler used with "Zieg Hail!" and Martin Luther King with "I have a dream.")

I'm sure the Babylonian Priest class and their Atlantean antecedents were well aware of these techniques and taught the ruling class (puppets) how to use them but through mystery so that the puppet ruling class was unaware of the blatant trickery that they were employing.

Truly a scientific system.

Anybody else see it this way?

Re: NLP Mind Control Con-Artists Strike Again
I have recently embarked on a 4 day NLP Diploma course and failed because I dared to question the script used during role play sessions. Instead it felt natural for me to follow my own methods that achieve results in motivating in my team I felt that I was being preached to rather than taught.

The NLP "master" I felt did not have the ability to have an intelligent debate and could not fully support his claims. He resorted to child like behaviour by announcing he would give me a certificate of attendance and announce to the class that one person had failed. Not something you would expect from a so called expert in NLP techniques!! However i replied by suggesting that if he felt this would benefit the group in their learning and made him feel important to go ahead. I left the class at break time without giving him the opportunity to ridicule me further in front of the class.

Although I feel some of the techniques have a place in communication my main concern is the NHS Trust where are work pay thousands to this private company for non evidence based NLP courses and can't afford the staff to deliver evidence based care to it's patients.........Madness!!! Because of this it has prompted me to start research in this area and produce the findings to the Chief Executive of the Trust.

IMO, NLP brainwashes mindless people into thinking they can achieve wonderful things becoming obsessed with this power and control they have over others as they feel a need to be needed in peoples lives. IMHO this can have non positive outcome for their organisation and staff who are at risk of running a Zombie Cult and not allowing people to think and express themselves in more positive non manipulative ways - Charisma, good people, life and communication skills is the key ;0) I can only speak as I find and the people I know who are obsessed with NLP, happen to be managers with no ambition or personality - who lack a sense of humour and colleagues think they are total nobs!! :0)

It appears that its fans are those who lack everyday social skills affinity/aptitude/natural ability to just get on with other people. People who desire power over thinking they can control the minds of others. Good thing is that so called NLP ers (my ass) are often so thick and that they don't even attempt to disguise the obvious methods they're taught. Those of us that can communicate effectively and interact in a positive way with others can see right through these freaks!!! IMO it is nothing more than a control tool for people who need to GET A LIFE!!!

Responses also on my facebook page Lauraine Maria or twitter laurainemaria
thanks for that

Re: NLP Mind Control Con-Artists Strike Again
As an autistic person who lacks these social skills you mentioned, its nice you refer to people with deficits this way.
Perhaps the reason you find them unpleasant is that they have to tolerate shallow judgmental people like you, who can't get over the fact that, while they are rubbish at small talk(or bullshit, as it is more commonly known), they are quite good at getting promoted.

Is it any wonder they don't treat you with respect? Yes us socially inept people don't sit around spending half the day talking about trivial rubbish, we work hard to distract ourselves from the obnoxious ignorant people that surround us.
I also think NLP is a load of cobblers.
