He was unhurt though his body guards were injured. I'll tell you what...those Iranians must be tough. If they were on foot I can't imagine a grenade only injuring people. |

[link to www.debka.com] (same link as OP for copyright rules) The plant is near the Bushehr Nuclear reactor. They could be connected underground, or this plant that exploded could be a cover or storehouse for things to do with that nuclear reactor. It may turn out to be a gas line as it says may be, or not connected to efforts to deter Iran's nukes. But, you never know. |

"Three days before the petrochemical complex was inaugurated, there was another mysterious explosion at a second energy plant, this one located on Kharg Island." If the one on the island on the 25th was from natural causes, okay that explains it, if not, how did someone get the explosives to an to an island to blow it up? Sounds like a professional job if it was not natural causes. But, it could be a coincidence that these 2 "natural caused" explosions at the same type of plants, in the same area, near a Nuclear reactor, happened within a few days of each other. I don't know. Just seems strange. |

| Free Indeed User ID: 1057710 08/04/2010 06:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The geography is interesting. If you go to Google maps and enter "Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant" you can see it's on a peninsula in the far SW corner, and located on the water. Then you zoom out a bit and see the Kharg Island where the first explosions and deaths took place, which is about 50 miles to the NNW of the nuclear plant by water. They have an airport and some roads on Kharg Island. But, not an easy place for an amateur to get explosives to. You'd have to bring them by boat or plane. Maybe a ferry? Asalouyeh is where this latest explosion took place and it is located about 200 miles south of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. The plant is located on the water. The article from Debka may be a bit misleading saying it was "not far" the Nuclear plant. Over 100 miles is kinda far. However the explosions took place in plants near the water in a sparse area where water could assist in a stealth way in and out. So both explosions happened where water access is maybe the key if it were to be planned explosions. Again could be natural and I am not suggesting anything here except that this is odd. We shall see. Maybe make sense later as things unfold, maybe we won't hear of it again. |
