It was left wing forcing the banks to lower standards in home application that drove a lot of what you call the free market.

Perhaps they were free at one time, but government trying to force social and economic laws to force redistribution of the wealth in regards to our free markets, is the real cause of this all. Read your history or actually, re-read it now without having a socialist brain wash you this time.
