by Charlotte Thomson Iserbt
INTRODUCTION
In the fall of l972 a small group of students in an introduction to educational psychology
class at a midwestern university saved every single soul in the lifeboat.
The professor became agitated. “No! Go back and do the exercise again. Follow
the instructions.”
The students, products of the radical 1960s culture, expected this to be a small group
assignment in creativity and ingenuity. They had worked out an intricate plan whereby
everyone in the lifeboat could survive. When the professor persisted, the students resisted—and
ultimately refused to do the exercise. Chalk up a victory to the human spirit.

However, it was a short-lived victory. This overloaded “lifeboat in crisis” represented
a dramatic shift in education. The exercise—in which students were compelled to choose
which humans were expendable and, therefore, should be cast off into the water—became
a mainstay in classrooms across the country.
Creative solutions? Not allowed. Instructions?

Strictly adhered to. In truth, there is to be only one correct answer to the lifeboat
drama: death.
The narrowing (dumbing down) of intellectual freedom had begun. Lifeboat exercises
epitomize the shift in education from academic education (1880–1960) to values education
(1960–1980). In the deliberate dumbing down of america writer Charlotte Iserbyt chronicles
this shift and the later shift to workforce training “education” (1980–2000).

The case is made that the values education period was critical to the transformation of education. It succeeded
in persuading (brainwashing? duping?) Americans into accepting the belief that values were
transient, flexible and situational—subject to the evolution of human society.

Brave new values were integrated into curricula and instruction. The mind of the average American
became “trained” (conditioned) to accept the idea that education exists solely for the purpose
of getting a good paying job in the global workforce economy.

This is not only in education but in many religious beliefs the early teaching of Yahoshua was a universal salvation one, we are to find a way to save all. This belief in choosing who and what will make it is intrinsically evil

Charlotte Iserbyt has also documented the gradual transformation of our once academically
successful education system into one devoted to training children to become compliant
human resources to be used by government and industry for their own purposes. This is how
fascist-socialist societies train their children to become servants of their government masters.

We did the lifeboat crap in college too. I find it all a waste of time, we could have been discussing our local mayoral race or how to build a better network. Lifeboat, hah, where are the lifeboats now that none of my classmates has a job in IT?

I did too! I did not know until I started reading her book that it was part of a plan to control the population.

Americans forget that the present government education
system started as a Prussian import in the 1840’s–’50’s. It was a system built on Hegel’s belief
that the state was “God” walking on earth. The only way to restore educational freedom,
and put education back into the hands of parents where it belongs, is to get the federal
government, with its coercive policies, out of education

The billions of dollars being spent by
the federal government to destroy educational freedom must be halted, and that can only be
done by getting American legislators to understand that the American people want to remain a
free people, in charge of their own lives and the education of their children

Personally I think every parent should pay for the education of their children. Why should homeowners bear the burden of taxes for the school system and many people have children and don't pay a dime for their child to be educated. Believe me, if this were to happen, the teachers would be held to the mark by the parents and children would learn. The government could keep their noses out of the education system, the more involved they are with more rules and regulations the worse the education system has become.

My mom knew this lady back in the 80's or 90's through Eagle Forum. Mom homeschooled me and used to tell me about all this stuff. I thought she was crazy and I used to beg her to send me to public school. Now..... I homeschool my kids and tell them about all this stuff. I hope they don't end up thinking I'm crazy. :-P

I home schooled my children, and sent them to school when they wanted to go. They have mixed feelings about it. The important thing is all three of our sons think for themselves. You are the parent you are taking charge of your children, if you are wrong you will be responsible. No one, I said no one, will care for your children or grandchildren like you do.
Love is the ingredient that is missing in a stranger teaching them "their" values. That goes for religious teaching also, teach them what you believe, not what a stranger believes.

Not only the dumbing down but the promotion of evil.

Re: Was John Smith Murdered Quote

I 've been thinking the past week about the amount of negative, destructive, hatefull, occullt obssessed films that are being produced in Hollywood.

Today I saw a poster advertising a new Nick Cage film 'Season of the Witch', the poster shows Old Nic (Cage)above a pentacle.

How many nice films are being produced? Not many it seems, and those that are, are swampped by the number of vampire, occult, horror, devil and death films being produced.

Be under no illusions this is not an accident, this is propoganda, propoganda with an agenda.

Another case in point. I was in HMV today and they have a box set of 'Dexter, The Worlds Favourite Serial Killer'. A TV series that is shown in the US. Where the hero is as the tag line suggests a loveable serial killer????!!!

WTF is going on?

Remember the late 70's and 80's, A Team, Rambo, Terminator etc. It was the age of the gun, the age of the eroticisation of the gun. A time when sliding a magazine into a pistol grip was more erotic than Linda Lusardi.

And now we have the eroticisation of evil.

I have mentioned earlier about a TV series about a loveable demon on this thread, the name escapes me. Well now to add to that we have a loveable serial killer?????

Let us not forget, it is not just that these programmes/films are poisoning impressionable brainwashed minds, they are resulting in good, honest inspirational films not being made.

Think about it. How many kind, heartwarming, loving, faith/humanity affirming films are being made/shown? Whats the ratio?

Films about goodness aren't popular? Horse shinola. A good film is a good film.

The manipulation and brainwashing is directing people towards evil and the occult.

from Iserbyt's book -page 85
MASTER PLAN FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION IN HAWAII—TOWARD A NEW ERA FOR EDUCATION IN Hawaii
was published in 1969 by the State of Hawaii Department of Education, Honolulu, Hawaii.
"The application of biochemical
research findings, heretofore centered in lower forms of animal life, will be a source of conspicuous
controversy when children become the objects of such experimentation. Schools will
conceivably be swept into a whole new area of collaboration in research with biochemists
and psychologists to improve learning. The immediate and long-term impact on teaching as
well as on learning and the ethical and moral consequences of extensive use of chemicals
to assist in the learning process must be studied extensively...."

Was waiting for the obligatory swipe at Christianity.

Thank you OP for not disappointing.

"We" don't save anybody. Yahweh does that.

If on Judgement Day He chooses to be merciful and forgive EVERYONE that's ok with me. (Perhaps that's what the Prodigal Son story was all about. I sure hope so.)

But, at this point, that's not what I read in the rest of the Bible. The only way I can stop a person from being saved is to sit quietly on what I know and judge them unworthy of hearing.

Rather than diverting an interesting topic on education into yet another Christian bashing thread, perhaps you should be asking the non-believers why they still trust what they were taught in their state sponsored indoctrination centers?

However i think the education has been the work of the Jesuits. It's what they do. It was the Jesuits who destroyed Protestant Prussia.

God's unlikely Latin lovers

Yasmin Haskell | September 27, 2006

ONE of the most delicious paradoxes in the history of education is the fact that the Society of Jesus, a Catholic Reformation order founded by Ignatius of Loyola in the 16th century, was the greatest single publicity machine for the literature of pagan antiquity from the late Renaissance until the French Revolution.

The ethos of the Society of Jesus was an apostolic one: its members were called less to contemplate than to preach, to harvest souls, to exert influence in the world. The order attracted active types - missionaries, musicians, mathematicians, artists, architects, scientists and poets -- and all Jesuits were required to do a stint of teaching in the society's free humanist schools.

The Jesuits are rightly acclaimed as the educators of early modern Catholic Europe. Among their brilliant alumni were Rene Descartes and Voltaire. While their curriculum and pedagogical methods were based on Renaissance models, the Society of Jesus translated traditional elements into a spectacularly successful formula of their own, forging an international educational empire that stretched from Rome to Russia, Mexico to Macau.
