Actually Prozac is a stimulant….

It never actually passed clinical trials.. It never showed any treatment effects better than a placebo. Valium had to be given along with it for it to pass clinical trials.

Stimulants are dangerous when given to people with depression, because they can trigger mania, and also when some one discontinues a stimulant when they are already are depressed, it can make them much more depressed.

Also when someone is in a manic state they can have the energy to do all kinds of crazy things they thought about doing, but were too depressed to act on them.

When I was on Prozac back in the 90's, I turned into a different person. I had no feelings of 'love' or other positive emotions. I felt emotionally numb, but acted out a lot of anger and destruction. Very unlike ME...the me I knew and those who knew me knew.

I couldn't conceive of the consequences of my actions.
I had a suicide attempt. I could not conceive that it could be 'final'. I know that sounds weird. It was definitely a cry for help, but it never entered into my mind that someone might not save me and I could actually die.

I've never felt that way before or since...never had a suicidal thought after taking myself off of Prozac.

I have warned people of SSRI's (and especially Prozac) ever since.

This info is so important. There are so many people who are reliant on SSRI's right now. If life as we know it ends, and people can't get them...well...look up the side effects of not tapering off these drugs. It will truly be the zombie apocalypse.
