Mutated Bird Flu Hits Dogs in United States, Tens of Thousands Killed as US Government Issues News Censorship Orders Under New Quarantine Provision Laws

Reports have reached today that the mysterious illness killing dogs in the United States has been identified as a mutated form of the Bird Flu, and as we can read as reported by the Boston Herald News Service in their article titled "No grey area: canine flu killed Mass. dogs" and which says;
"The mystery killer that has dropped greyhounds at a Revere racetrack is part of the deadly canine flu ripping through racetracks across the country, test results reveal. State regulators initially downplayed as ``kennel cough´´ the malady that eventually killed 18 greyhounds at Revere´s Wonderland track. But test results just back from a University of Florida lab prove what activists argued from the start: that the mystery plague is canine influenza - the same killer canine flu that has infected an estimated 10,000 dogs across the country.
Meanwhile, some activists contend that confirmation that the canine flu has infected Massachusetts racing greyhounds raises new dangers for domestic dogs and even possibly for humans. Federal researchers this summer are also expected to test racetrack workers in Florida for signs of the canine flu. Given the stakes, some activists contend the state should be taking stronger measures."
One of the worlds leading viral scientists, Harvard Universities Dr. Henry Niman, had previously guessed that the cause of these dog deaths was related to the Bird Flu, and as we can read from his report titled "Bird Flu Killing Greyhounds Throughout the United States?" and which states;
"The fatalities in greyhounds this season appear to parallel the deaths in Florida last year, but the scope of the infections is markedly greater this season. Last season dog racing tracks were closed in Florida, but this season the closings are nationwide and the number of fatal infections has increased markedly. Last season H3N8 avian influenza was isolated in Florida. This was the first reported isolation of influenza virus from dogs. H3N8 has been previously associated with equine influenza. There have been H3N8 outbreaks in horses in Florida, Wisconsin, and Kentucky, which may be related to the outbreak in racing dogs.
The widespread nature of this season´s outbreak indicates this year´s etiological agent is quite infectious. Although the H3 in H3N8 isolates is distinguishable from H3 in human H3N2 isolates, a highly infectious fatal avian influenza that affects mammals is cause for concern. Recent false negatives for H5N1 in Vietnam and WSN/33 H1N1 in Korea raise serious avian influenza monitoring issues."
The Boston Herald News Service had also previously reported on these events in their article titled "Race flu may kill your pet: CDC probes possible link to humans" and which said, "The devastating and shadowy malady that is claiming the lives of greyhounds at Revere´s Wonderland racetrack may have even deadlier ambitions: lovable Fido and perhaps even his master. The federal government´s top scientists are exploring whether a deadly dog flu that has ..."
But where that story ends another more ominous one begins in that according to Russian FSB sources the United States has ordered all news of these massive dog deaths to be censored so as not to cause widespread panic among its citizens. Numerous new laws passed in the United States since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 have given to the central government unlimited powers to suspend information releases regarding the Bird Flu Pandemic and to arrest and quarantine any of their citizens who violate these draconian new measures.
Even more disturbing is that when the United States triggered these censorship measures they did so under the guidance of the World Health Organization, and who’s sweeping powers we had previously reported on in our report titled “Chinese Government Admits To Massive Epidemics as World Health Organization Granted Sweeping New Powers over All Nations and Peoples on Earth" and wherein we had said;
“Not known to the Western peoples is that the World Health Organization, WHO, has been given new and extraordinary powers this past week over all of earth’s peoples in preparation for the battle against this unstoppable new disease, and as we can read as reported by the Financial Times News Service in their article titled “WHO gains new powers to tackle disease" and which says;
"The 192 members of the World Health Organisation yesterday approved international rules giving the WHO sweeping powers to tackle disease outbreaks and other health threats. The WHO said the need for new international health regulations had been underlined by the 2003 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars) and the more recent bird flu epidemic in Asia. The current regulations, introduced half a century ago before the days of mass air travel and global mobility, cover only cholera, plague and yellow fever."
Perhaps most to be affected by these ‘sweeping’ new powers of the WHO are those peoples living in the United States, and who during the aftermath of the events of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks allowed themselves to be shackled with some of the most draconian laws against freedom ever devised by the passing of laws known as “The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act” (PDF document), of which a part of it states;
"The public health authority may isolate or quarantine, pursuant to Section 604, any person whose refusal of medical examination or testing results in uncertainty regarding whether he or she has been exposed to or is infected with a contagious or possibly contagious disease or otherwise poses a danger to public health.

Lost to these American peoples also was their Presidents signing of an Executive Order authorizing quarantine for the United States when this deadly flu hits their country, and as we can read as reported by the News Target News Service in their article titled "Bush authorizes bird flu quarantine order" and which says, "President George W. Bush signed an executive order on April 1, 2005, authorizing a quarantine to be imposed on the nation in the event of a bird fl outbreak. Bird flu is currently found in Southeast Asia, where it has been contracted by at least 69 people since January of 2004. The current bird flu strain has a mortality rate of 70 percent."
The significance of the ‘sweeping’ new powers given the World Health Organization, coupled with both the American Presidents signing of the Executive Order and the various American States enacting The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, is that the complete sovereignty of the United States, and its peoples, will be turned over to the World Health Organization, and operating under their laws called the International Health Regulations (IHR), and to which every nation on earth has agreed to abide by.
No longer in effect when these things happen will be their current American laws or their much cherished Constitution. Never in history has such a plan been devised to so effectively, and quickly, destroy the freedoms of so many people.”
Not just the United States has been affected as China is currently battling against the Bird Flu Pandemic too, and as we can read as reported by Malaysia’s Star News Service in their article titled “China culls 13,000 geese after discovering bird flu in far northwest" and which says, "China confirmed on Thursday that an outbreak of bird flu in its far northwest had killed 460 geese and said the case had been contained. The announcement by China´s agriculture ministry came a day after authorities in Hong Kong released the news, having been informed by Beijing. The ministry said it culled more than 13,000 geese at a farm in the Xinjiang region after discovering that about 460 had died from the H5N1 avian flu virus strain. Fears of bird flu in China were rekindled after Beijing reported in late May that more than 1,000 wild birds, including geese and gulls, were killed by the H5N1 flu strain in Qinghai, also in the country´s remote west."
What is perhaps the most disturbing about these events is that in suppressing and censoring news and information relating to the Bird Flu Pandemic to their citizens, the United States is losing the chance to have its citizens prepared for the massive amount of deaths to come, birds first, animals second then human beings. Where the majority of the worlds nations are warning their citizens and preparing their citizens for what is about to occur they instead turn to secrecy, instead of openness like one of their very own allies, Australia, who just became the latest of the worlds nations to put its citizens on alert, and as we can read as reported by the Australian National Nine News Service in their article titled “Australia on alert over flu pandemic" and which says;
"Revealing a plan to deal with the crisis Tony Abbott said Australia is at greater risk than ever from a deadly new strain which could kill thousands of people. According to the federal government, the WHO, which has been carefully monitoring the spread of bird flu in Asia, believes the world is closer than it’s ever been to a new pandemic outbreak. It has been calling on all governments to develop or refine pandemic plans.
The government has put on alert all emergency health workers, viral surveillance laboratories, and GPs, issuing 35,000 kits on how to fight the expected flu pandemic. If Australians aren´t prepared, then just as the Spanish flu pandemic of 1919 wiped out thousands, we could expect the same. It is estimated that a major influenza pandemic could lead to 2.6m Australians seeking medical attention, 58,000 needing hospitalisation and 13,000 deaths."
Speculation among Russian Intelligence Analysts is that the greatest fear among the US Government Military Leaders is their citizens becoming aware of how deficient their food supplies are of nutritional value and how massively their entire food supply is permeated with genetically modified ‘things’, and that are so depleted of value to the human body that they are actually destroying the American citizens ability to restore their depleted immune systems.
So serious have these genetically modified foods so affected the Americans that their Centers for Disease Control has begun to treat the obesity epidemic caused by these GM foods as a serious disease, and as we can read as reported by the New York Times News Service in their article titled "C.D.C. Team Investigates an Outbreak of Obesity" and which says;
"For the first time, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has sent a team of specialists into a state, West Virginia, to study an outbreak of obesity in the same way it studies an outbreak of an infectious disease. Kerri Kennedy, the program manager at the West Virginia Physical Activity and Nutrition Program, said the state had requested the agency´s investigation. "We were looking at our data," Ms. Kennedy said, and saw that "we are facing a severe health crisis."
Not just to our warnings are these American peoples not heeding, but even to the many of their own fellow citizens, such as the Network of Concerned Farmers who have also warned of these dangers, and as we can read as reported by them;
"According to a March 2001 article in the New York Times, "The CDC (Centre for Disease Control) now says that food is responsible for twice the number of illnesses in the United States as scientists thought just seven years ago... At least 80% of food-related illnesses are caused by viruses or other pathogens that scientists cannot even identify." The reported cases include 5,000 deaths, 325,000 hospitalizations, and 76 million illnesses per year. This increase roughly corresponds to the period when Americans have been eating GM food. In addition, obesity has skyrocketed. In 1990, no state had 15% or more of its population in the obese category. By 2001, only one state didn´t. Diabetes rose by 33% from 1990 to 1998, lyphatic cancers are up, and many other illnesses are on the rise. Is there a connection to GM foods? We have no way of knowing because no one has looked for one."
Today as the Bird Flu Pandemic grows ever larger, our efforts must remain to educate and warn as many of these Western peoples as we can. Towards this effort our labors must not cease.

The deaths of 400 sheep in two counties in Mongolia are cause for concern. There was not enough detail or clinical data to indicate the cause of death, but H5N1 bird flu should be considered. Many of the bar-headed geese that winter in northern India and fly to Qinghai Lake Nature Reserve continue fly north to southern Russia, flying over Mongolia.
Reports on the H5N1 outbreak in Qingahi have indicated that over 8000 birds have died. Deaths of domestic animals, including 84 sheep were reported previously.
If the sheep in Mongolia have died from H5N1 infections, then the earlier boxun.com Qinghai reports would be more credible. It would also confirm H5N1 infection of sheep, which hasn´t been reported previously"

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan (Reuters) -- A mystery disease has killed more than 6,000 animals in Afghanistan´s northeastern province of Badakhshan in the past two weeks, an official said on Sunday.
Authorities are waiting for test results, carried out by foreign aid workers, to find the cause of the epidemic, said Engineer Mohammad Hassan, chief of the agriculture and husbandry department of Badakhshan.
"It is a very strange type of disease, which locals call animal plague," Hassan told Reuters in Faizabad, the provincial capital of Badakhshan.
"So far more than 6,000 animals, largely goats, sheep and cows, have perished as a result of the outbreak," he said.
Rugged Badakhshan lies near the border with China and Tajikistan and a majority of its residents rely on agriculture.

Hong Kong on bird flu watch
Hong Kong has announced it is stepping up its surveillance of poultry farms, after an outbreak of a deadly strain of bird flu was confirmed in a province in western China.
Officials in Hong Kong say Chinese authorities told them about the outbreak of the H5N1 strain among geese in the north-western Xinjiang region.
More than 1,000 geese showed signs of the illness; about half died. About 13,000 birds were culled in the area and more were vaccinated.
The Chinese say the outbreak is under control.
The outbreak in Xinjiang follows the deaths of more than 1,000 migratory birds last month in Qinghai, south-east of Xinjiang.
That was the first confirmed H5N1 outbreak in China in nearly a year.
At that time, a Chinese veterinary official said that the disease was spreading along a migratory bird route that stretched from south Asia to central Asia and over the Himalayas through the Tibet and Qinghai regions.

The H5N1 virus has been fingered as a possible new strain of flu that could be devastating to humans if it genetically mutates and develops the capacity to be transmitted from human to human.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that if this happens it could trigger a new human flu pandemic, potentially killing up to 50 million people worldwide.
So far, a total of 54 deaths have been recorded from H5N1 in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia.

I just posted the above about Hong Kong and the Bird Flu and what struck me was the statement from the Chinese government ´under control´.
WTF does that mean?! How can a virus be ´under control´? It´s either mutating or it isn´t, but in either case it can´t be described as ´under control´.
The only thing having to do with this Bird Flu Pandemic that is ´under control´ is how much we aren´t allowed to hear about how deadly serious it is! |

Ever wonder why it´s always an "Asian" flu? I did, too. Then I read an article, didn´t keep it, dayumit, which said that the farmers over in China house their pigs and chickens in nearby pens, and every year the animals breed another type flu.
What´s up with that chit? Why don´t they just SEPERATE the dayum animals? Sheesh.

There ARE reports that this "dog flu" affecting
the Greyhounds is a strain of H3N8 (bird flu) this
does indicate it has spread from birds to mammals.
A news search does yield a few stories about this
but most are from the same source and repeated.
This is really a big story and TPTB, so far anyway,
are keeping mum about it. Why is that? |

Why is that? Could you imagine the panic if they told the truth? The foods we´re eating are killing us. The government is allowing GM foods to be in our food chain without testing. And if every one of us starting eating healthy and refusing to buy the shit they sell in the grocery stores our whole economy would collapse.
I don´t even think there´s enough good organic food in the whole country for everyone. |

Dear Fellow American,
In October 2004 my husband was tried and convicted, in what I perceive to be a kangaroo court, of possession of a 9 mm submachine gun. He was sentenced to 27 months in prison and is now serving that term in Morgantown, West Virginia. Here is a very brief description of what happened: In 2000 he purchased a gun kit, which is legal, from a local gun dealer; he assembled the kit which then made it illegal. The gun never left our property and was never fired. My husband never threatened anyone, harmed anyone, or destroyed anyone’s property.
FBI agents contacted us away from home, at an overnight stay while celebrating my birthday. They coerced and threatened him into surrendering the gun to them. (This same FBI agent then lied under oath on the witness stand at the trial.) We contacted an attorney in Erie, Pa. He would charge $25,000 to enter a guilty plea. If my husband chose to demand his right to a trial by a jury of his peers, the attorney fee would be over $100,000. My husband chose to represent himself with the help of a paralegal, since we could not afford those outrageous fees.
My husband spent many hours preparing for the trial. He penned a brilliant opening statement speaking on our Constitution and the rights it affords. Literally minutes before the trial the prosecutor, Christine Sanner, handed him a motion signed by Maurice B. Cohill, Jr., Senior U.S. District Judge. This motion prevented Terry from even mentioning the 1st , 2nd, or 5th, Amendments to our constitution. The judge told my husband if he mentioned them at all that he would be held in contempt of court, fined, and imprisoned for that offense. Therefore, Terry was left defenseless before the jury and could say very little. After the trial, a reporter asked the prosecutor why she had prevented Terry from speaking about the constitution. Her response was, "We didn’t want to confuse the jury." In other words, the prosecutor knew that if the jury heard what Terry had to say, the government would have lost their case.
Our country is being destroyed by overzealous prosecutors and arrogant judges who choose not to follow our Constitution but make up laws as they see fit. Our prisons are overcrowded with innocent people. Your tax dollars pay the salary of our corrupt prosecutors and judges. Your money also pays to support many people in prison who could be out earning a living and paying taxes themselves.
If you want to help turn this country around and make judges accountable for their behavior, here is what you can do:
First, write to your Congressman and demand that he introduce legislation to mandate that the Supreme Court hear all Constitutional issues, which was once the law, and apply the Crawford standard of original intent in every case.
Second, demand that your Congressman bring a Bill of Impeachment against Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. for trampling on the rights of an American citizen, Terrance Willaman. Congress does have that power. The only way Congress will stand up to these arrogant federal judges is if they think their jobs are in jeopardy. Make them believe they will lose the next election, and they will act.
Please help my husband and other Americans by writing to your Congressman today. Thank you for your time. May God bless you for taking a stand against evil.

Did anyone hear of a paravirus wiping out a number of dogs in the NY area. Had a friend tell me last week that her brother´s puppy died of this virus. And, that a bunch of puppies from the same shop died of it. He was told not to get another puppy for at least three months b/c his apartment is CONTAMINATED (!).

There was a kennel fire where several greyhounds died in the news recently-I thought it was a ploy to get more money from possibly ill dogs-the ´kennel cough´...as they play it in the media...
Interesting that so many microbiologists and disease experts have died the past few yrs by strange circumstances...
see any patterns. Polly-there was a few articles about the contamination between the chickens and the ruminant...
changing that around would help I am sure and feeding animals safe food would also help. |

Bird flu: we´re all going to die

The theme of the person awaking from a deep sleep or coma to find a world utterly changed is a popular one in science fiction. From John Wyndham´s book The Day of The Triffids through The Omega Man to the recent film 28 Days Later, the trope of the man arising from his hospital bed to find that nothing is as it was has become well-worn.
That´s fine - as long as it remains just a story. But if - when - a flu pandemic comes, and millions of people die around the world over a period of months, the reality will be one of two alternatives. It´s either going to be like those films, with videoconferencing suddenly all the rage, local farm produce making a big profit, empty supermarket shelves (you have to ship the oil, and distribute the fuel, but can the Armed Forces really do all that?), tumbleweed blowing in the streets, a medieval attitude to anyone not from "around here".
Or else governments will impose a police state that will make all the ID cards and airport checks look like a tea party. You´d not be allowed to move anywhere without showing off a vaccination certificate. (Sure, you´d get those on the black market, and they´d cost more than £300, but would you really want them? If you´re not vaccinated would you really want to travel among people who might be carriers?) Or it might be both at once.
One more thing. You might well be one of those millions who die in such a pandemic. If you travel to work on public transport; if colleagues in your company travel by air to Asia; if you´re travelling abroad through a busy airport. You´ll probably touch someone or share air with someone who´s infected. The premise of Terry Gilliam´s Twelve Monkeys will become reality.
You may think this is overblown. But discussion of the possibility of a flu pandemic has fallen out of the news. And as the security consultant Bruce Schneier says: "One of the things I routinely tell people is that if it´s in the news, don´t worry about it. By definition, ´news´ means that it hardly ever happens. If a risk is in the news, then it´s probably not worth worrying about. When something is no longer reported - automobile deaths, domestic violence - when it´s so common that it´s not news, then you should start worrying."
The risks posed by an outbreak of flu passed from chickens in the Far East, in coutries such as Vietnam and Thailand, burst into the news in February. But now they´ve passed out of the news. Since then we´ve had more important things, like the Crazy Frog ringtone, to concern us.
Time to worry. And the scientists are. In fact, they´re edgier than I´ve seen them since the BSE outbreak was in its earliest days and people were wondering if it might pass to humans. Quite a few scientists stopped eating beef at that point. Oh, you didn´t know?
Now, their reaction is to write papers and watch what´s happening, very closely. If you read the scientific journals (we do, so you don´t have to) the articles are piling up. Last week the journal Nature pulled together an entire online resource on the threat of avian flu.
That´s the trouble with scientists. They get an idea into their heads - CFCs and ozone, carbon dioxide emissions and the greenhouse effect, the transmission of BSE to other species such as humans - and they worry away at it until they determine what the answer and the mechanism is.
Here´s what´s they´re worrying about now. The First World War killed seven million people. But the strain of flu that followed it - incubated, experts reckon, in pigs that were kept near the front lines to help feed the troops - killed up to 100 million, helped by the movement of troops returning home from the war.
Pandemics come around, on average, about every 70 years or so. There were small ones in 1957 and 1968/9, when "Hong Kong flu" - strain H1N1 - spread around the world, and one million died. That was tiny by pandemic standards. The scientists reckon we´re overdue for an infectious, fatal strain of flu, one which can pass from human to human by the usual methods - sneezing or contact.
There´s already a deadly strain of flu around - "chicken flu", better known to the scientists by the strain of flu virus that causes it: H5N1. But it only passes from chickens to humans, not from from person to person. If it could do that, it would have the potential to turn pandemic.
But maybe it already can. There have already been a couple of cases of deaths from H5N1 where the only logical pathway is human-to-human. The UK government announced in February that it will buy in thousands of doses of Tamiflu as part of the UK Influenza Pandemic Contingency Plan (PDF, 160kB).
Too bad - the latest results (reported by New Scientist; limited-time free access) suggest that Tamiflu isn´t effective against H5N1. And anyway, New Scientist reports, the UK´s order for 14.6 million five-day courses of Tamiflu treatment will take its patent owners Roche two years to fulfil. The company is still trying to develop ways to synthesise it from scratch.
The consequences of a really big, fatal flu epidemic on modern society are hard to imagine, partly because they´re so enormous. Air passengers would be the first vector of infection, followed by the people who travelled with them in the train or Underground train or coach from the airport, followed by the family and friends of those people. Give it a few days and people would be falling ill, then over the next weeks dying.
If the strain is new and unexpected, there wouldn´t be time to produce enough vaccine to treat it. According to a New England Journal of Medicine article by Dr Michael Osterholm of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis - who is also director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy - titled "Preparing for the Next Pandemic", the 1950s-era methods of producing vaccines means we would need (ironically enough) one chicken egg per person to produce the vaccine, plus six months to culture it.
"The global economy would come to a halt, and since we could not expect appropriate vaccines to be available for many months and we have very limited stockpiles of antiviral drugs, we would be facing a 1918-like scenario," notes Dr Osterholm, who calculates that given current technology, we could vaccinate about 500 million people, tops - about 14 per cent of the world population.
Of course, most of those will be in the developed world. But are you sure you´d be one? Are you in the Armed Forces? Do you or your business count as an essential service? If you´re not involved with the electricity, water, fuel distribution, phone or gas industries, then probably not. "And owing to our global ´just-in-time delivery´ economy, we would have no surge capacity for health care, food supplies, and many other products and services," Dr Osterholm adds.
Let´s have some more numbers from Dr Osterholm, just to encourage you. He writes: "It is sobering to realize that in 1968, when the most recent influenza pandemic occurred, the virus emerged in a China that had a human population of 790 million, a pig population of 5.2 million, and a poultry population of 12.3 million; today, these populations number 1.3 billion, 508 million, and 13 billion, respectively. Similar changes have occurred in the human and animal populations of other Asian countries, creating an incredible mixing vessel for viruses. Given this reality, as well as the exponential growth in foreign travel during the past 50 years, we must accept that a pandemic is coming - although whether it will be caused by H5N1 or by another novel strain remains to be seen."
All this has been noted by virologists and disease experts around the world. But what can we do? For one thing, listen to what they´re saying, and put some pressure on the politicians who are ignoring this threat, in the hope it will go away. Climate change may be a greater threat than terrorism, but a flu pandemic is a more immediate threat than either.
Or, as Canada´s deputy chief public health officer, Dr Paul Gully, put it to the Toronto Star: "Frankly the crisis could for all we know have started last night in some village in Southeast Asia. We don´t have any time to waste and even if we did have some time, the kinds of things we need to do will take years. Right now, the best we can do is try to survive it. We need a Manhattan Project yesterday."
Let´s hope they got started. Now, where´s the number of that forger for my vaccination certificate?
