What's the best alcohol to drink while on this diet?
Liquor? If so, what kind.
How much can be taken without stalling fat loss?

Hi,

The best alcohols are whisky, vodka, gin, rum, etc. Brandy is next but most brandies contain some carbs, but still pretty low.

I find that all alcohol stalls weight loss :( While I was trying to lose weight I was pretty much tee-total.

There seems to be a very interesting post-alcohol weight gain that can kick in one day after you have been drinking. I find that in most cases the morning after you have been drinking there is a weight loss. This lulls you into a sense of security since alcohol produces hunger for quite a period after drinking, so you tend to over eat the day after drinking. This can produce a HUGE weight gain that kicks in the following morning after the weight drop. The weight drop could be 1-2 pounds, but the subsequent weight gain can be a pretty scary 4-6 pounds. This can take about a week to come off again.

Now, I am usually careful the day after drinking and stick to about 1500 calories of mainly fatty food. This seems to prevent the big rise that seems to follow the alcohol binge.

Hope that helps.
