I think she is right, but the way she made her point was too 'in your face'.

She is right in the sense that no word or words should be reserved to a certain segment of people. Also, there is no malice in using any word in a quote or when referenceing it for illustration purposes. As in 'the word n______ originaed in early America.....". Another point, whatever group finds a word offensive should be the first group to stop using it in ways other that stated earlier.
