earthbags take time it can be done with one person but, big BUTT you still need to coat them for protection. using a slightly cement or lime mix than earth bags fill you can make either of these systems and have a 'finished' wall! I'll be able to finish a modest house in a summer, then add as time goes on. I'm actually covering mine in cob, gives a higher R value (it get's cold here!!) Some people use papercrete to cover the bags, but there seems to be a difference in opinion as to how well papercrete holds up in damp climates.
