I dig the cobb idea. I will probably use cobb in my Oehler type underground house.
Is Mike Oehler still around? I have his first book: "The $50.00 and Up Underground House." Excellant read!
Yes he is very old now, and living on the same land but in a normal style house next to the road. He says that the old house has blended into the hill so well now its difficult for even him to find it. otherwise last time he checked it was still in stable shape.

I built a small one out of mainly salvaged materials on a hill on some property I had years ago. Sold the land in about "82. The owners used it for awhile until the county started in with permits, codes, ect. The last I heard it was bulldozed and a conventional house sits there now. (sigh)
