Why not look beyond all gods and all religions to the perennial philosophy that so many religions have been based on? Religion only points to Truth. Words cannot convey it. Most religions have someone that has Realized the Truth and has tried to describe it. But words always fail. It becomes Dogma. That is why religions always fail to lead the seekers to the end point of what they are seeking. Religion and worship only keeps the mind spinning in circles. You can only get there yourself, by yourself. Meditation is a doorway. Self inquiry is the key. Let go of all of it and maybe you will find what you are looking for.

Precisely, people take the words of enlightened ones so blatantly that they kill over it. Religion does very little to lead one to Truth even though it is based on the words of Enlightened beings. Truth exists outside of ideas. Only there will you find it. It exists withing the Heart, not the mind. They mind will lead you astray everytime.

Meditation is the doorway. Self inquiry the key. Yes, I know I already said this. But it is important. Don't fall for another religion because it is the next newest thing with more glitter than the last. Some of the phrases used in different religions bring comfort, but in the end, most bring misery and destruction because they make the seeker cling to words. Words are not Truth. Go out on your own and seek. Read about all religions and read between the lines. To take anything literally. Read with a soft heart and an open mind. What is it that they (religions) are all pointing to? It is all the same thing if you look at it gently and with an open, kind heart. Read between the lines. It is too simple for the mind to understand. But it is as close as the nose on your face.

One of the best books you can read, if you must read, to find Truth is The Ashtavakra Gita. It is a tiny little book that need not be analyzed because it's words are almost a perfect representation of non-duality. When you read it you realize you wrote it to yourself. And that is quite hilarious actually. It may take many readings to see this. The mind will play games with you and try to trick into believe that is not so. But when you finally get it, the whole word opens up and you realize the only one constraining you was "you". And, yet, there really is no You. You just think there is.
