I started a new thread called the 42 commandments. Mainly it was just to post somewhere on the net the falsity of the 10 commandments being cribbed from the egyptians. it bothered me that I didn't see any support for a view counter to this when I googled the subject. Its just a tidal wave of sites on the Egyptians being the creator of the 10 commandments.

And I have been reading about Joseph Smith and the gold tablets, because we have 2 mormon presidential candidates so I need to seriously consider the benefits of electing someone who believes that the American Indians were descendants of the Hebrews and that an angel brought gold tablets to someone which they translated by putting a stone into a hat and then stuffing their face into the hat and reading the letters off the stone. Previous to his career as a famous prophet, Jo was a "money digger" and would use this stone to find treasure for people. He was not very successful at it so I guess he needed a new occupation, prophet.
