Problem is, we can't raise enough revenue to pay the debt. Need more people in work to pay taxes. Only way to get people in work is to spend money. More money means more borrowing,and the cycle starts again. Truly, we are fucked.

We are actually more hindered now by being in the EU and the Euro. We cannot do anything to help our exports as we don't ahve a Central Bank in ireland anymore with any power to devalue currency.

The biggest crime this current Irish government has committed is bailing out zombie banks at the expense of the Irish taxpayer. And not for small change either. Billions of euros committed for the next 20 years to take the toxic loans that the greedy property developers took out when the economy was booming, that they now cannot pay nor ever will. We have hundred of housing estates around the country that are half finished,derelict building sites that cannot be finished because of this madness that engulfed us from around 1996-2007. As an economy,we are a basket case,despite the spin being put forward by our 'leaders'.

Fiat currency has been and will be so debased it will be useless. The trend is to switch over to an energy based "currency" system. I'm not sure they will be able to switch over in time however.

Should have happened a month ago. The reason it didn't is because market makers wanted to keep the markets up for trading purposes and volume.

It also doesn't help business very well if the markets are imploding. Vacationers won't spend money if their portfolios are being hammered.

We spent too much on Iraq, and I wonder just how much we're getting back when China gets oil from them. If Iraq were to pay the west back with Oil, then the expenditure is justified, although it will probably take 5 years.

The West is also aging, and for the Western world to survive it needs to have more children, who are responsible young adults instead of importing Africans/Muslims/Asians/other immigrants to do our work for us.

I can say, that honestly there are very few responsible young adults in the Western World who are native. This is what constitutes the real decline of Western power. As the west declines, so will the world.

actually the name of the game is. The elites for over a hundred years have been setting up a system where they are back in charge and make the average person a serf/slave that had won some freedom with the getting rid of the monarchys of the world the last couple of centurys.
