confession of a failed doom poster

A few years ago I got a tip about impending doom from someone in a position to know. I know that my source believed what he told me. So of course I posted a warning here and tried to be vague enough to keep my source from getting into hot water. I got the usual BS flags and insults but I didn't care because I had no reason to doubt my source's sincerity. Obviously, he was wrong, but in my case at least it wasn't an attempt to mislead. I really believed what I posted. I wonder how many doom threads here were from people like me who weren't trying to play games. It makes sense that when TSHTF for real SOMEONE really is going to get a tip from someone they know. That's what's so frustrating about doom threads here. In the back of my mind I always wonder if the poster is intentionally spreading misinformation, or if he's someone like me who really was told something and honestly tried to warn the GLP community, whether or not the doom actually transpired. If I were to ever get a tip like that again I would post here, but if it turned out to be incorrect I won't hide in embarrassment like the last time, I'll get on here and take my punishment like a man.
