Q: How long do cooked beans keep in the fridge?
I have seen 1 week and 2 weeks on to 3.

All I put in their was onion garlic and spices. Organic black beans.

My feeling is 2 weeks is fine but want to make sure :)

Simple test: Remove the cover from whatever container said beans are in. Put your nose right up close to them. Smell them deeply. If you gag, they're no good. If not, heat and eat.

Your body will tell you what you can and can't eat if you listen to it.

If it were me, I would go with one week. They get kind of slimy, and moldy after that. If you freeze the leftovers right away, they would be good for a long time.

7-10 days for beans without meat. 4-6 days for beans with beef, 2-4 days for pork, chicken and other fowl.

They'll start smelling sour when they're getting bad.

I'd refry them after a five days or so, and maybe you'll get another three or four days out of it.

It's possible to leave anything in the fridge as long as you want and attempt to eat it, but beans aren't expensive enough to warrant getting sick trying to salvage them.

Just cook em up again and eat em. With enough heat, anything that started growing on them will be dead anyway. If they have visible mold growing on them, take the mold off, throw it away, and heat up the rest of it to eat.

Dangerous thinking.

You can kill the bacteria, even most spores... but their waste products (toxins) are heat resistant.

You'd have to boil the water out, and crispify the food to destroy them.

About 7 days. They will begin to ferment as they go bad. A sour smell will be present.

Best practice is to freeze leftovers by day 3. Thaw and cook within one year.

Q. How clean is your fridge? The state of some people's fridges I have seen couldn't keep food for a few days with the amount of bacteria that must have been in there. You have to keep all your food firmly covered air tight and ensure that you actually sponge clean your fridge every so often especially if you spill something.

This is the first thing that will ensure your food keeps for longer.

Depends what temp your fridge is set at.

Most people have their setting to high ,best is just above freezing.
