Oh, and please don't confuse melaNIN with melaTONIN.

The first is skin pigment. The second is a sleep aid.

So the pineal gland doesn't cause you to be black?
Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support!

Re: Thoughts and Theories: Schizophrenia - What is the pineal gland?
If the sole cause of schizophrenia was a malformation of the pineal gland tissue, curing-disabling the symptoms of schizophrenia could be done surgically.
That said.. there is information that suggests maladaptation of the pineal gland tissue maybe contribute to the symptoms of schizophrenia.

Re: Thoughts and Theories: Schizophrenia - What is the pineal gland?
Yes, the pineal gland is directly connected to the external eyes. This connection allows it to modulate (for example) the release of melatonin for activating sleep.

So yes, it is physical light it is responsive to.

Let me teach you a meditation real quick. It will fascinate you, if you are looking for a link to the spiritual connection with the Pineal gland.

....

Go to a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Put in some ear plugs or something, so that you have nearly total silence.

Now, be still, and calm. First, you will likely hear the sound of your breathing. Perhaps even a "roar" which is the blood in your ear drums.

Now, turn the focus of your attention in towards the center of your brain [yes, where the Pineal is!]. You will hear a high pitched sound. Almost like the "frequency" of a radio tuner, only much more high-pitched.

Stay turned inwards towards this sound.

This sound is the connection to the Divine. It is the audible sound of our connection to the inner light of the Pineal (which is the doorway to the Divine).

.....

I would have to wonder how many schizophrenics can NOT hear this sound.

Just something to think about.

Re: Thoughts and Theories: Schizophrenia - What is the pineal gland?
Well, this could be the amygdala or the frontal lobe.

The frontal lobe is considered to be the place where creativity takes place. In cases of those who are seeing things that aren't there, or believing things that are not there, it could be a disconnect or a short circuit between the frontal lobe (where the thought originates) and the pineal (where the thought is pictured).
 Quoting: Sandi_T

I understand that idea...

However, I guess we would have to ask ourselves...

Are your dreams (sleep) of your own creation?

Are they your imagination?

Or could they possibly be a perception of another dimension, hypothetically?

So perhaps these peoples' imaginations (frontal lobe) aren't the culprit.

Well, if you are actually asking me, and not being hypothetical, I will tell you this. I would say that many cases of "schizophrenia" are misdiagnosed for exactly that reason.

I have never been diagnosed as schizo, but mostly because I don't tell "authorities" that I can see spirits and communicate with dead people.

Often people get so overwhelmed by seeing things they're told aren't real that they seek ANY help for it. And the only real help offered is "cut it off, in whatever way the allopathic community can manage."

Which really, is no help at all, if you ask me.

So if you'd like to help schizophrenics who might well NOT be schizophrenics, I would suggest getting them to talk honestly about what they're seeing. See if they can learn the qualities that separate the extra-dimensional things from this one.

Let's pretend for a minute that it's all about them anyway, and not spiritual or extra-dimensional. It will still improve their quality of life to be able to tell the difference between the two. That way, they can know better when to be upset, and when not to be.

So helping them to begin to determine if there are qualities that separate out the "other" kind of experiences, they will begin to cope better.

For example, the woman who "Ghost Whisperer" is based on would see dead people as clearly as you and I see regular people. But the difference was that she would feel PERFECT empathy for the dead, but not be able to read the living.

It was through learning this that she learned not to react to the dead people while in the presence of the living. Being able to differentiate between the two was key to her being able to lead a "normal" life in the presence of other people.

I'm sure that made no sense to most folks, but maybe you'll get what I'm saying there.

Could it though?

That's why I find Cataplexy interesting...

There was a documentary about a girl with cataplexy who couldn't experience emotion without having a cataplexic episode.

Cataplexy is a sudden and transient episode of loss of muscle tone, often triggered by emotions. It is a rare disease[1] (prevalence of fewer than 5 per 10,000 in the community), but frequently affects people who have narcolepsy, a disorder whose principal signs are EDS (Excessive Daytime Sleepiness), sleep attacks, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations[2] and disturbed night-time sleep.
 Quoting: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

This disorder is linked with hypocretin...

Central administration of orexin A/hypocretin-1 strongly promotes wakefulness, increases body temperature, locomotion and elicits a strong increase in energy expenditure. Sleep deprivation also increases orexin A/hypocretin-1 transmission.
 Quoting: [link to en.wikipedia.org]

Notably:

A link between orexin and Alzheimer's disease has been recently suggested.
 Quoting: wiki

So here we see these chemicals in the brain all responsible for the same types of things... hallucinations, sleep disturbances...

The link between all these things are hallucinations and constant dream/nightmare-like perception.

But I think that care must be taken, as well. I had a fiance who shot himself, because he developed paranoid delusions (schizophrenia). So I do think that there ARE cases when something must be done to help them.

If there is no paranoia involved, and the person is able to trust, then there are alternatives. But when the person's own mind causes them to believe that everyone is trying to destroy them, medication may be in order.

I think that many cases are misdiagnosed. I also think that some cases are not.

That isn't what I meant, and you damned well know it.

My fiance became convinced that everyone in his life was trying to poison or kill him in a very direct and intentional manner. People who loved him dearly, he became afraid of. He thought people were sneaking into his room at night and he began making bombs and booby trapping his yard.

He was delusional, literally. Not just aware of the realities of our government, but literally delusional.

Re: Thoughts and Theories: Schizophrenia - What is the pineal gland?
add this to your direction of thinking mo

There are asymmetrical crystals in the pineal gland that are ‘piezo-electric' - that is, they send out electronic voltage creating EM waves. Whenever a person is exposed to an EMF (electro-magnetic field) such as that of the earth the gland vibrates, sending out EM signals to the rest of the body. When the pineal gland is stimulated geo-magnetically it produces alkaloids similar to plant psychedelics. Any strong change in the earth's EMF will produce a rush of psychedelics in our bodies enabling us to be more psychically active in shamanic states (earth/ land receptive). The pineal gland is efected by coherent EM fields and it changes its hormone production when exposed to EM at low levels.

Re: Thoughts and Theories: Schizophrenia - What is the pineal gland?
this is coherence

In physics, coherence is a property of waves that enables stationary (i.e. temporally and spatially constant) interference. More generally, coherence describes all properties of the correlation between physical quantities of a wave.

When interfering, two waves can add together to create a larger wave (constructive interference) or subtract from each other to create a smaller wave (destructive interference), depending on their relative phase. Two waves are said to be coherent if they have a constant relative phase. The degree of coherence is measured by the interference visibility, a measure of how perfectly the waves can cancel due to destructive interference.

then add this

also stop using the word wave and insert the word pulse with no exception...better visuals and more accurate

human archetype for wave incorrect...it is only a pulse and was never a wave...wave is the name of a shape humankind attribute to a pulse...good word for a shape...says fuck all about purpose of the shape

and purpose...frequency (speed) and pressure (force) of the pulses = information.

and what it means is when your inside understands what`s going on outside

"From Beyond" is a short story by science fiction and horror fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was written in 1920 and was first published in The Fantasy Fan in June 1934 (Vol. 1, No. 10).

"The story is told from the first person perspective of an unnamed narrator and details his experiences with a scientist named Crawford Tillinghast. Tillinghast creates an electronic device that emits a resonance wave, which stimulates an affected person’s pineal gland, thereby allowing them to perceive planes of existence outside the scope of accepted reality."

DMT in conjunction with mono atomic gold particles acts as a Superconductor.

The Pineal Gland is where Serotonin, Melatonin and DMT are metabolized in your Brain.

Schizophrenics have high levels of DMT present in their Urine because their Pineal Gland is working over time.

I love pineal gland threads. one of my obsessive learning materials.

From what I understand, the psychical aspect of it in our brain is used to send us to sleep by releasing melatonin into our brains when we close our eyes and are ready for sleep.

Thats why, if you were to stay up for about 48 - 72 hours, you would start to see hallucinations, I hear, I don't know whow true it is, but it could be fatal, or send you mad, if you were to not sleep for over 100 hours and have all that melatonin and DMT in your body.

Then Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a hallucinogenic chemical is released to produce our dreams we see.

The spiritual aspect, this is your third eye and a gateway to our everlasting infinite conciousness. Through meditation, you can open the third eye and connect with the real world.

The reason this whole thing hasn't been understood properly, on a widely accepted level... is because it involves the metaphysical.
