Cats are very independent creatures and do not get lonely in the same way dogs do. They like some movement and action, but they do not pine for humans. Dogs will cry, carry on, it's truly miserable what most dog owners put their dogs through each day when they are at work.

But while you are at work your cat is: sleeping and eating. more or less not missing you until he thinks "oh, wait...I'm kind of wanting some excitement here" and then you come home and he's happy.

So don't feel bad about kitty being lonely. The dog on the other hand, truly sad situation for those left home all day...
