Hi, my name is Christopher Michael and I'm VERY VERY interested in what you said about the name "Michael" being a 'role' because I've always felt that our names play a very crucial part in our purpose and destiny here on this planet. After a dream that I had when I was about 12yrs old I decided to start going by "Michael" because that is what I was "told" to do and even though to this day I can't explain it I always felt like Jacob being given the name Israel or Abram being given the name Abraham.

From that day I was not Chris anymore, I was Michael and that is who I am to this day. Although, I feel that having the name Christopher as my first name is a reminder to put Christ first in my life and to always remember that I am a vessel, a Christ-bearer. I know "Michael" commonly means "who is like God" but what else do you know about this name? And please elaborate on the differences between Christ Michael and Archangel Michael.

I remember before I even began to search for the truth; I had just suffered a major drug overdose and I died for a brief period of time before I was resuscitated and that night when I came home from the hospital I was praying and asking God to please give me some kind of purpose..something to give my life meaning and value..to please reveal what I'm supposed to do and His plan for my life. Right as I was praying to Him I heard a loud thump in the living room and I came out and saw that my bible that had been neatly placed on the bookshelf had mysteriously fallen off and landed face down on the floor..and when I picked it up it had fallen right on Daniel 12 and I read;

"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."

Now, I'm not some egotistical, messianic maniac that thinks I am THE Michael mentioned in Daniel 12 but when I read it I felt so comforted and so assured and never before had I felt so positive that God had just given me my answer. I knew that God's plan for me was to help those who are asleep in the dust of the earth to wake up! To this day I keep that verse to myself as it gives me so much strength and determination and encouragement to know that God intends for me to do great things and to make a difference in this life, and in the world to come.

Hi Daniel! It's very nice to meet you! I've been lurking on GLP for quite some time but only until recently have I been actively making posts and replies and such. It's been a while since I've had steady access to the computer to have time for such things.

I'm very, very intrigued..would you please be so kind as to elaborate on how the book of Daniel has been 'personal' to you; what experiences, dreams, visions and such have you had that makes you resonate so strongly with what was written.

I'm not going to lie, I've always struggled so much in my faith and in prayer because I feel that God has a big plan for me but I've been wavering so much and falling so far from the heavenly standards He has set for me and I'm scared that He will give up on me because there's been so many times I so foolishly blamed Him for the disappointments and tragedies in my life that I deliberately chose to, for a time, to give up on Him.

But it breaks my heart almost to the point of tears to know that I have done that and I pray and seek forgiveness for my many sins that are piled up so high they reach the stars. And all I want is to hear His voice again; to have him point me in the right direction, to take this crazy mixed up mess of a life I've made for myself and help me to make sense of it all and to help me to Love more and to Forgive more and to give me the power to break free from my additions and all that which has me bound.

I'm so happy to have met someone who, I feel, shares sort of the same convictions and maybe we may have answers for each other or something to teach one another; perhaps a Word or two, who knows? Can you please explain this more? When Gabriel becomes Jibriel then the barrier will move; what barrier? And what is the significance of Gabriel becoming Jibriel. When does this take place? And what is Michael's role? Does Michael have any relation to Mishael in Daniel also? Or is Michael the fourth, that looked like the son of the gods? I know it says Michael will go to war with the Dragon in the final days; what do you know about this war? Get me up to speed! ;)
