Any shade tree mechanics out there? My engine will turn over but will not start. What could be the problem?

ecu problem ?

take a plug out and pour a bit of fuel in a cylinder put the plug in and turn over if it fires its fuel rail

so most likely be ecu as not all the injectors go at once


if it doesnt fire change cu anyway as that allso controld ignition

Op I hate to hi-jack a little bit but I never thought of posting here about a car issue.

Can anyone tell me why my 2000 sunfire (100k) idles so wierd.

I will be sitting in a drive through and the idle goes from 800 rpm - 1200 rpm and flucuates like it never has before.. Plus there is a slight bearing type low squel coming from the pulley/belt area.. I know its not the altenator I just had it replaced.. Any idea?

Spark Plugs, OK, brand new.

Distributor OK.

Plug Wires OK.

Fuel Pump OK.

Battery OK...the engine turns over.
