Then again, I've seen people being unable to answer who our first president was, so it doesn't surprise me as much as it should. When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. -Thomas Jefferson Join my village and earn some cash on the side. BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 08/31/2010 12:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Reminder to self: Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience... Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

What really maters is what you don't know -- and let's face it: most of us know nothing at all. There's no REAL difference in terms of TRUE knowledge between a university professor and a newborn baby. In fact, the newborn baby probably intuits much more than the university professor, whose mind has been corrupted by false notions and who sees the world through a tunnel vision of his own making. |

No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are. Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1071156 United States 08/31/2010 01:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Theres a difference between dumb, ignorant and retarded. If you dont know anything about a subject you are ignorant of that subject. If you only know lies about it, you are still ignorant of that subject. Dumb would be when you fail to learn the truth being taught or taught lies about the subject and when presented with the truth, still believe the lies. But you can understand whats being discussed. To be retarded means you have a learning difficulty that inhibits your ability to learn or understand the facts. In truth it means to slow or retard your learning experience. You can learn and recite the constitution, but you have no idea what you are saying. They are just words to you. no meaning behind them. Americans may be ignorant about a lot of subjects, but this is hardly an American phenomenon. Every country has their own subset of retard people, ignorant people and dumb people. I am thinking you are one of Britans dumb subset. For you understand well enough and your intention to insult was duly noted, but you totally blew it with your lack of knowledge and true understanding of the words you chose to use. |

Quoting: RhodesI see, my apologies... the thread title mislead me. I observe that there has been a coordinated effort by powers in high places to "dumb down" the masses. People are attacked all on fronts, not just education. All influences (physical and spiritual) play their role in influencing thoughts and behavior. I do not think this is isolated to the US (as another poster mentioned). People who cannot think for themselves are easier to persuade and control. I suppose reality can be difficult for some to digest. |
