I was thinking of taking it apart, but it's not mine, I rent it from the cable company. I can't figure out how to take a picture of the camera through the dark shaded plastic front. I'd love for someone to do what you say, "see what it sees". But there is no doubt, there is a camera lens there, pointing into the room. (I covered it with a postit). |

US accused of making insect spy robots [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] Oh Grrrreeeeeaaaat..... A while back I was doing some yard work. There was an insect that looked kind of like a bumble bee hovering around where I was working. I moved on to another area, and there it was again. This happened the next day as well. It would just hover by where I was working. I thought maybe it could be more than one insect, but I never saw more than one at a time. I would have posted it on GLP, but I didn't want to sound paranoid. |

There were many bugs around that neither I, nor my country-type, older neighbor had ever seen before. There were many new, exotic-looking dragon flies and beetles. Someone could have slipped a spy-bug in there that didn't look like exactly like any other bugs I know, and I would have been none-the-wiser. It does seem kind of costly and dangerous (in terms of getting caught) to practice on the general population. Funny thing is, I never have seen another hovering insect like the one I saw for those couple of days. Not one that looked or behaved in that manner. |

We had at least six different types of dragonflies living in a little perennial/grass garden and every now and then a totally diferent type would make a fly-by. I can't find my prior posts, I can't do a search. But I had posted something about that dragonfly bug thing I had seen. In that thread (a short one) there was a poster who posted three links with short clips on some dragonfly looking spy bots that hover, land, go through openings. I'll keep looking for it to get the links. What I had seen was a dragonfly-looking bug that was bigger than any dragonfly I had ever seen, sounded like a humming bird when it flies by, and which had dropped something shiney which was a tiny bottle. I even scanned the bottle and put it in that thread. Anyway, some had theorized it was a dragonfly spy bot that had dropped something. Although, to be honest, it looks just like a tiny teeny glass bottle which had a hazy transluscent violet blue purlish color inside (not solid, a mist of sorts), and smelled of lilacs/lillies. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1039687That is awesome. The dragonflies that live at my house vary. The weirdest one had a solid black body and completely transparent wings with a large, black, perfect square in the middle of each wing (the only color on the wing). They look evil compared to the others, which are all large, loud and colorful. If someone were to develop an insectbot, I think the dragonfly would be a good model. Although flies and ants and such can get inside easier. :SWT name: When the shit hits the fan and the end is quite nigh, will you cry out to heaven? Will you lay down and die? Not me, my dear ones.
