Drives me nuts hearing him pronounce "known" with two syllables...it MUST be his favorite word. Quoting: weegieSeems everyone has their favorite announcer they hate....I like Troy as he seems to be a stand-up guy and he actually knows what he's talking about being a hall of fame quarterback. |

Yeah, I like Troy Aikman a lot. Good voice, good cadence, doesn't upstage the game like Buck does. Too bad he gets pared with Buck so often. |

I remember listening to him in the early 80's while playing high school. Dumb ass, yes. Looks like an ant eater, yes. Memories, I'll give him a pass. |

Just seems like he is anything but a proto-typical sports announcer. Seems more like a little man who is always trying to over dramatize to bring attention to himself to make up for his lack of stature. And, of course, he makes THE stupidest calls I have ever heard... |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 917033 United States 09/06/2010 11:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OK, I wanna be fair and objective here. Musburger did a credible job tonite announcing - but - he was different. Like on a leash. Like someone talked to him about his last botched job. Case in point, when the Boise State QB fumbled and Musburger thought his arm was going forward which would negate the fumble.....he caught himself....then he said two things: 1) we'll just have to see how it works out and, 2)why don't you make the call (talking to his partner). Seemed obvious he was reeling himself in. But his natural instinct was to go off the deep end and start shouting that the QB's arm was going forward.....maybe his meds worked... |

Artee User ID: 1140035 United States 10/23/2010 10:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Finally, I have found others that realize how stupid and inept Brent Musberger is. I have to mute the sound when he announces his comments are so inane and nonsensical. Can't abc sports hire a decent announcer or is Brent just that cheap that they keep going back to him. He's OLD! He should retire!!!!!!! Please!!!!!! |
PJ McKain User ID: 1184624 United States 12/05/2010 01:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree - I absolutely HATE him! I will never watch a football game where he is the announcer! Yes, I am from Nebraska. All we have is our college football. We don't have any pro teams or any industry. This is one reason why Nebraska fans are so loyal - it's all we have!! I'm sure there are many Texas & Oklahoma fans who are thrilled to death that Nebraska lost the chance of the championship tonight. I am very disappointed. I hate the fact that now everyone will be gloating that Nebraska leaves the Big 12 with no championship. Please bear with me & try to see it from my point of view, please? I know I deserve to be dumped on, but... What made it hurt even worse was having to listen to the biased commentators. Musburger (is that the correct spelling?) has always hated Nebraska. It has always been very obvious whenever he is the announcer for a NU game. Tonight, there was constant chatter about the other team & how great they were doing, how awesome the players (ad naseum). (Please forgive me, Oklahoma fans.) Even when they did something that wasn't so great, he had to add something positive!! eg: he commented that it wasn't a very good punt, but then said, "well at least he got a nice bounce" (or something like that!!!) It was seriously that way the whole game. Praising OU & putting NU down. Even the guy who was with him (who is usually a fair announcer), was jumping on the bandwagon to "diss" Nebraska & the players. Yes, we lost. I will live.....sigh |

Once again tonite, the announcers were clueless at the end of the game. Yes, Brent Musburger was one of them. As soon as Oregon called time out with 10 seconds left, I knew why - and how the rest of the game would play out. Tell me any of you figured it out right away too? And we'll chat. "Life. It's not for everyone." |

So you must also think the Olympics is stupid. That's nice. Good attitude. You equate all sports and people who play them and follow them with mindless sheep. Go tell that to the football teams at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Notre Dame...shall I go on....? "Life. It's not for everyone." |
\m/ User ID: 1371415 United States 05/05/2011 01:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with you, OP, Musburger sucks. Like you, I've had to put up with the guy for freaking ever. As a Texas fan, Mushmouth is the bane of my sports enjoyment. Whenever Texas has a big game, Mush has to be there to run them down. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 983877His most favorite thing to say in life is OKLA-HOMA SOONERS! which makes him the biggest dumbass on the planet in my book. I always turn the sound off when the guys inevitably announces our games. Wow that's called not choosing sides. I remember him calling the big 12 championship in 09. I never felt more nerve recking in my life than that last second. And it's all thanks to Brent Musburger. :) |

deadsprat User ID: 1535183 United States 09/04/2011 05:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hunh? Was I the only person who heard Brent say last year, “In the pros when a player’s helmet comes off, they continue the play. But in college games when a player’s helmet comes off, the play ends right there.” Poor Kirk just sat there looking like a deer caught in the headlights, saying nothing. Or, Brent's opening comment in the Oregon/LSU game "between the number 4 and number 5 rated teams in the NCAA"? Brent talks far too much. deadsprat |
