Bahamas Drops Charges in John Travolta Extortion Case
NASSAU, Bahamas — A judge in the Bahamas dismissed charges Monday against two people accused of trying to extort money from John Travolta after the prosecutor said the actor no longer wanted to pursue a case stemming from the death of his teenage son.

Prosecutor Neil Braithwaite had submitted a motion to drop the case after a jury had already been picked and a retrial about to start for the two defendants.

"The Travolta family has said that this matter has caused them unbelievable stress and pain and they wish to put this whole thing behind them," Braithwaite said.

Ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne and his attorney, politician Pleasant Bridgewater, were accused of threatening to release private information about the January 2009 death of Travolta's 16-year-old son Jett at the family vacation home in Grand Bahama.

Lightbourne, who was among the medics who treated Jett, allegedly sought $25 million from the actor with the assistance of Bridgewater, who resigned her seat in the Bahamas Senate after she was charged in the case.

Re: Bahamas Drops Charges in John Travolta Extortion Case
This was the plan all along even with the first trial to ge the Travoltas to drop the case. That is why they had someone tell everyone at a political function the outcome of the trial prior to the official jury outcomes.

That way it would end up in a mistrial and have to be done over, leaving such a time length so that the Travoltas may change their minds and it worked.

It has nothing to do with justices that they should receive. The Bahamas do not play fair with any persons justices even if you are from the Bahamas, unless it is about money to the polices or the political people.

The Emergency driver was and is guilty they have him recorded trying to extort money from the Travolta family so why is the Bahamas police not doing their jobs they have that evidence now??? It should not even be left up to the Travoltas at this point that man is guilty 100% guilty the proof is there and he needs to be prosecuted fully.

All this is about is to hush up the corruptions in the Bahamas which is never ending. If anyone can do this to a family that has just lost their loved one knowingly so is a danger to society, all societies.

All in all the Bahamas will receive Karma as a pay back in all they do as they simply could care less about anyones rights, it is all about $$ there obviously. I would think that the Bahamian peoples would stand up and make them prosecute these people to show the world that at least some of them are honest and decent.

People will not forget no matter how they try to shove this one under the rug. It only looks worse for them now by even attempting to do nothing.
