Had you thought of asking "them" a question. Like dowsing.
One where you get a yes/no answer +++ for yes and --- for no.

And then ask..like.. Will it happen before Thanksgiving?

Just an idea..but perhaps that would help against anxiety...or not...

and actually try communicating...I would say..only one question per night..or maybe 2...
