Everything is great at the moment. But I added sand, manure,
worm castings, mulch, trace minerals, Epsom salts ( magnesium/Sulfur) and Calcium to the ground and tilled in. Also I planted red clover to put back
nitrogen. And added kelp.
The soil is worn out in a lot of places. Which is why the
vegetables are not as nutritious anymore.
Also. In years past, the companies that had heavy metals to
dispose of, did a run around of the disposal laws by shipping them across state lines to be incorporated into fertilizer. No regulations on the fertilizer. Heavy metals were just listed under inert ingredients.
Farmers who bought this mess of fertilizer, poisoned their soil so nothing grew anymore. Some farming towns were devastated. I think Washington was one of the states. You can google it for the details.
