Great thing is, you can find plenty of good advice, solid wisdom, and heavy teachings in all of the world´s various religion programs.

The hearing goes out only for a short time, but "recovers". Like if you press the "mute" button on the tv remote control, "normal hearing" mutes down abruptly - but you can hear the surrounding area (quietly) - and then both resources (humming + surrounding noise) are overlapping to the normal volume... after some seconds the humming mutes down constantly. Maybe its not wax-cleaning, but defragmenting the brain. :-))

The Yazidi’s own name for themselves is Dasin. While popular etymology connects the religion to the Umayyad khalif Yazid I (680-683), the name Yazidi is perhaps most likely derived from the Pahlavi (Middle Persian) word "yazd," meaning angel, probably in reference to Malak Ta’us.

Yazidi faith contains elements of Zoroastrianism, Manicheism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism and Gnostic and local pre-Islamic beliefs. It might have originally been based on the original religion of the Kurds. In about 1162, Sheikh Adii Ibn Mustafa radically reformed the religion, so that some believe the previous form was a different religion from current belief. Different clans may also have different interpretations.

Yazidi believe in God, the creator, but his role stops there. The active forces in their religion are Malak Ta’us and Sheik Adii.

According to the Yazidi, Malak Ta’us is a fallen peacock angel who repented and recreated the world that had been broken. He filled seven jars with his tears and used them to quench the fire in Hell. Yazidism also includes minor deities and some clans venerate Sheikh Adii as a saint, subservient to Malak Ta’us. There are also 6 other minor deities that are honored.

The Yazidi holy books are the Book of Revelation and the Black Book. The latter forbids eating of lettuce or butter beans and wearing of dark blue. The historical status of the book is questionable.

Yazidi are exclusive and do not reveal most of their secrets to the uninitiated. The twice-daily prayer services must not be performed in the presence of outsiders, and are always performed in the direction of the sun. Wednesday is the holy day but Saturday is the day of rest. There is also a three-day fast in December.

The most important ritual is the annual six-day pilgrimage to the tomb of Sheikh Adii in Lalish, north of Mosul, Iraq. During the celebration, Yazidi bathe in the river, wash figures of Malak Ta’us and light hundreds of lamps in the tombs of Sheikh Adii and other saints. They also sacrifice an ox, which is one reason they have been connected to Mithraism.

Yazidi society is hierarchical, with a prince (emir) as its secular leader and a chief sheikh as its religious leader.

Mandaeanism is a religion which has been classified by scholars as Gnostic.

Since the 1st century AD the Mandaeans (Mandai) have mainly lived in the borderland areas of Iraq and Iran. Many have fled the region since the 1990s due to the unstable political climate and have immigrated worldwide. There is no official census of the Mandaeans; conservative guesses at current population size have been made in the range of 50,000 to 70,000.

In reference to their connection to the Qur´an as the Sabians, Mandaeans are called Subi by their Muslim neighbors. The Mandaeans have also been called the "Christians of St. John" (a misnomer, since they are not Christians) based on a comment made by Portuguese monks in the 16th century. The Mandaeans may also be the same "Nasoraeans" indicated in the works of Epiphanius. The Mandaeans have remained separate and intensely private—what has been reported of them has mostly come from outsiders.

The Mandaeans are labeled as gnostics due to the Mandaic word manda, which can be translated as knowledge, the same word as "gnosis" in Greek. Thus Mandaeanism can be seen as a "Gnostic" religion. It is the only remaining Gnostic religion excluding revivals like the Manichaean Orthodox Church [1] still in practice.

Part of the Mandaean ritual dress, called a rasta, includes a white turban symbolizing the great mystery of radiance, light and glory.

Mandaean beliefs

The Mandaean religion has a more strict dualistic nature than most Gnosticism. Instead of a large pleroma, for the Mandaeans there exists a clearer division between light and darkness. The ruler of darkness is called Ptahil (similar to the Gnostic Demiurge), and the originator of the light (i.e. God) is only known as "the great first Life from the worlds of light, the sublime one that stands above all works". When this being emanated, other spiritual beings became increasingly corrupted, and they and their ruler Ptahil created our world.

Mandaeans believe that Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad were false prophets; instead they acknowledge John the Baptist, whom they see as one of their greatest teachers. There is some confusion that the Mandaeans came after John the Baptist, while in fact they existed before him; according to Mandaean dogma, Mandaeanism was the original religion of Adam. In the Mandaean library of scriptures there is a book of John called Sidra d Yahia, which includes a dialogue between John and Jesus. They also have a hierarchical clergy, practice frequent baptism, and hold public worship on Sundays. They deplore fasting and monasticism, and believe in peace above all.

There are many Mandaean scriptures, the most important being the Ginza Rba, a collection of history, theology, and prayers. On the Internet, the Ginza Rba is often confused with the Qolusta, which was translated by E.S. Drower in her book titled "The Canonical Prayerbook of the Mandaeans." The language used is called Mandaic, a language closely related to Aramaic.
