Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1091965 United States 09/07/2010 09:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well how about this? I am a vendor at a gun show. I sell knives and guns and gun accessories. I have a cousin who was convicted of a non-violent felony. He needs some work on the side. I want him to help me man my tables. If my guns are secure and he does not touch any of them he is abiding by the law, correct? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1091965I don't think there are any restrictions of "touching" a firearm, only in the purchase and possession of a firearm. 20+ years ago, I got in some trouble with drugs. I played in a band and was caught with a felony possession of some white powder (less than a quarter gram). That seems as if it was a lifetime ago, and I have no desire to have anything to do with drugs at all, yet, because it was a felony, I cannot vote, I can't own a business, I can never own a firearm, etc. I am reduced to a second class citizen because of the sins of my youth. a Far cry from true Justice wouldn't you say? Some states allow convicts to purchase firearms, if its a non-violent or drug offense...but its on you to check. there is no penalty for trying to buy one, its just like if you go to a car dealer and have no lic to drive. Youll get a see ya, and thanks for shopping. Some states you can even buy shotguns and rifles with violent offenses. Best place to call, is a local arms dealer. And most importantly, BE HONEST when you ask them. "Majority of Amerika is too awash in its own mediocrity to commit to fighting for freedom" Mojo |
