Sucralose is an artificial sweetener known by the trade name Splenda.
In the European Union, it is also known under the E number (additive code) E955. It is 320 - 1,000 times as sweet as sucrose[2], making it roughly twice as sweet as saccharin and four times as sweet as aspartame. The FDA states in their Final Report on Splenda that sucralose is “produced at an approximate purity of ninety-eight percent.” The other two percent does not have to be reported to the FDA, nor listed as added ingredients. So what’s in the other two percent?

Try stevia if you are going for low-calorie or diabetic-friendly.

Aspartame was approved by the EU in 1994 and reaffirmed in 2002, 2006, and 2009

Stevia and Xylitol are both good, safe sugar alternatives.
Xylitol is actually produced in the body in small quantities.
It is made commercially from corn cobs and I think from Willow Tree bark.
It is great for many uses and is found in some sugarless chewing gums. The Japanese consume about $400 million bucks
woth each year. It has been produced since around 1935.
I have not heard any bad reports apart from being not very safe to feed to pets.
Xylitol actually boosts Pancreatic performance and helps the entire metabolism. MSG when consumed "knocks out" the
pancreas and thats why there is so much obesity.
So big business causes the problem and then pretends to
"fix" the same problem with another/other poisons that will
make things even worse.
If in doubt and you need a fix eat fruit.

I am very sensitive to medications and I am leery sometimes of what they give to me when I have the flu, colds, so forth.
What I have found to knock it out of me is green tea. It has to be steeped for 7 or 8 minutes (extra strong) and the taste is like freshly brewed grass clippings,(UGH!) but if it is decaf, it tends to knock me out and does wonders overnight.

Even Leonardo Da Vinci advised people to avoid doctors, and the treatments back in his day.

Stevia otoh is grown as an herb-green plant, that can be used dried or in drops and is very concentrated but not as much as many of the lab created fakes

It DOES NOT elevate sugars in diabetics or others...it is more readily processed by the body with NO negative
