The bible doesn't have to be the only source for generating world peace
 Quoting: Lemon

The Children of Israel were chosen to be an example... both of what works and what doesn't. Enshrined in the Laws at Sinai are things that do not work because man cannot completely keeps such laws 100% of the time throughout his entire life... The Eye for and Eye does not work for a partnership, a family, a tribe, or a nation or world, or any human society... yet they choose in their ignorance to bind themselves by these laws... what they show in the example is that man is so morally corrupted he cannot follow ANY law what so ever. Commanded to love one another as they love themselves, or commanded to completely and fully commit genocide, they could not ever fully follow the entire letter of the law, not ever... no matter what that law was.

Their historical example should serve as an example to all of mankind that those who say, "there ought to be a law" have no knowledge of the true state of human nature at all.

Adam was given only one commandment, only one. Today in the Biblical Christianity, mankind collectively is given only One commandment, and very many refuse to obey it as well. IN the meantime our civil governments have thousands of legal commandments, so many that no man can know and properly apply every single one of them at any given time. And in the meantiem our civil governments keep adding more and more laws to attempt to govern or control the mind and heart but espeically the behavior and actions of their peoples.. more and more laws because the fewer laws just don't seem to be doing the job or taking enough into account. So now they are hoping and have been attempting to resort to 're-education', genetic engineering and mind control in the attempt to control mankind and get him to obey whatever laws there be 100% of the time, each and every citizen and subject and slave. It almost seems the example that the Children of Israel was called out to be an choose to be has been completely ignored or misunderstood.

Not even the most intense mind control will do the trick, because man's problem is spiritual and not psychological, mental, or emotionally based.

Yes.. Christians are required to obey Jesus..

Luke 6:46 says;

“Why do you call me Lord, Lord” and do not do what I say?

John 3:36 says;

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of GOD abides on him.”

2 Thessalonians 1:8 says;

“Dealing out retribution to those who do not know GOD and to those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.”

John 15:14 says;

“You are my friends if you do what I command you.”

Hebrews 12:25 says;

“See to it that you do not refuse him who is speaking.”

2 Corinthians 10:5-6 says;

“We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and we are ready to punish all disobedience.”

Romans 2:13 says;

“It is not the hearers of the law who are just before GOD, but the doers of the law will be justified.”

James 1:22 says;

“Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.”

1 John 4:6 says;

“We are from GOD; he who knows GOD listens to us; he who is not from GOD does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

yes..Christians are required to be perfect..

Matthew 5:48 says;

“Therefore you are to be perfect as your heavenly FATHER is perfect.”

1 John 3:6 says;

“No one who abides in Him sins, no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.”

Hebrews 10:26-27 says;

“If we go on sinning willfully after receiving knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgement and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.”

1 John 3:8 says;

“The one who practices sin is of the Devil.”

Luke 12:49 says;

“I have come to cast fire upon the earth and how I wish it were already kindled.”

John 15:22 says;

“If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.”

1 Peter 4:1 says;

“Since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.”

An excellent collection of doctrine. the side of true Christian doctrine that those promoting a Prosperity Doctrine as a Christian doctrine fully hate -- (I mean to say prosperity in this world, not in the one to come).

The thief comes preaching a prosperity doctrine in order to steal from you, to kill you, and to destroy you. Just send that thief your money, he suggests 10% of all you have, figured everday and sent every day... so that you do not have enough to hand the 'poor bum' on the street who refuses to steall for his food, a couple of buck to go eat, or fix a meal for him, or provide some shelter for the homeless person.... by this prosperity doctrine, they say, let the bum get a job, while denying him any place to live, and any food to eat while he waits two weeks to a month for his first pay check... and then insisting that he must where a certain prescribed clothing style which he has no money for.

Yepper, the Prosperity doctrines of false christian preachers and teachers has perverted teh Gospel of Jesus Christ.
