Damn I keep forgetting to login when I post...anyways...back to my time travel explanation. I was going to edit my post above but forgot to log in.


I wanted to add that when astrophysicists or cosmologists use those massive telescopes to find distant galaxies they are not seeing the galaxies as they exist today...right now. They are seeing them as they were millions even billions of years ago! That's because light takes TIME to travel.

That is also why we haven't been able to find other planets filled with alien colonies because we don't have the technology to see these planets as they exist today.

So if someone looks through a telescope and they find a galaxy 12 billion light years away, they are seeing that galaxy as it existed 12 billion years ago. That galaxy might not even exist anymore, it's taken 12 billion years for the light to travel from there to here on earth.
