Looking for him in the quiet of night, your dog can hear your call from a greater distance. Call and wait, call and wait, repeat without moving for a bit. Start a short distance from your home. Moving closer to home, you do not want to lead him further away.

I am very sorry I tried to locate your pet but was not successful. When I can't get through it can only mean one thing, that they have passed. My condolences.

Your dog is going to have to make his journey on a full stomach, try to go to the place that make his favorite types of food, and see if anone saw him behind the dumpsters and had to shoo him away, I see an italian restaurant, I do not see foul play but a memory that got triggered, it you have any idea where your dog was as a puppy or in a first home go to that area, you may have relocated, where u were is where he is going

He'll be at the pound soon, let them know and keep checking. A cruel neighbor let him out. He will return.
