What is the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath?
I get the impression that every psychotic is also a psychopath, but psychosis is further complicated by the loss of touch with reality.

Is that correct?

I think a psychopath is now called a sociopath, and they are usually people who have little or no empathy for others. They are the ones who have no remorse after killing another human being, or animal.
A psychotic is someone who is not in touch with reality. Most schizophrenics are psychotic, but not all psychotics are schizophrenic.

Re: What is the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath?
No, psychopathy is a disorder marked by a lack of empathy, guilt, or conscience. Psychosis is delusions, hallucinations, etc... not really a specific disorder but more a class of symptom. Someone with psychosis isn't necessarily a psychopath, in fact they are quite separate.

This.

Psychopaths (or sociopaths) are scary dangerous people who just don't have any remorse, etc.

Psychotics see/hear things that aren't there. Might be dangerous, but maybe not.

I don't know how you say "equally crazy". One person's psychosis may not be as severe as someone else's.

You can actually be a psychopath and realize it and choose not to harm people. Or you can be a mass murdering loony.

Every person is an individual.

Re: What is the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath?
In some ways psychosis isn't quite as bad, because you can treat some of the symptoms with antipsychotic drugs. The drugs won't always work and some people get pretty bad side effects, but at least it's something... you can't give someone a conscience by giving them a pill.

Re: What is the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath?
Also the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath is that TPTB are psychopaths and Slappy Anderson is a psychotic.

psychopaths = greater danger by many orders of magnitude than psychotic. Not even in the same league.

Also, psychosis can be temporary... you can just go a bit bonkers for a little while after some traumatic event (death of a loved one, drug withdrawal, etc) and eventually recover from it. But psychopathy is more or less a life sentence.

A psychotic needs special care to cope with the world. A psychopath thinks he/she owns the world.

Re: What is the difference between a psychotic and a psychopath?
It really boils down to knowing right from wrong. Example: A Zionist or people who believe zionists are God's chosen people are sociopaths. For instance....Murdering people for their land and organs know this is wrong but they do it anyway. Also, advocating and defending these actions by these cold blooded murderers additionally makes one a sociopath......I hope this helps.

Absolutely its one of their main tools. Suck somebody that you care and then manipulate as you wish. They think its funny and the their victim is stupid and deserves what they get.

5% of the population, ever wonder why the world is the way it is? This is heart of the problem. Its as bad as eradication and sterilization is needed, sad to say so, but heck they want to do the same to us.

A psychopath is a parasitic entity, they mirror back or mimic the behavior of their host as a survival mechanism. A psychopath without a host is a void.

Psychotics are delusional whereas Psychopaths are emotionally and morally disconnected from society at large.

Psychotics are disconnected from reality.
Psychopaths know exactly what they are doing, but do not care.

A psychotic is not in touch with reality...he is confused and violently so.

A psychopath is not at all out of touch with reality, he simply does not care about you or things others seem to care about. He has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to achieve his goals and understands that you do, so he keeps queit about it.

Some say that I am a psychopath...

I understand that...

And I do not deny this.
