Praying: Does it make things better or Worse?

Same here until I realized I was praying to the wrong God.

same as you experiances, i don't pray anymore, don't really know who to pray to anymore, i used to believe there was a God, but i am just not really sure anymore. Sad times we are in OP, we all need a miricle, who knows maybe we will get one. Don't know, i do know that i am about spent.

I pray a bit but mostly God and I just talk and hang out.

Everything is energy.

What you want and what you need are two different things. Often you don't realize what you need, and that is usually what you get although it isn't what you want or what might feel good.

If your praying to the Christian god Yahweh then it will probably make your life worse since he is an evil psypathic monster. Stop praying to entities outside of yourself, they are for weakminded children.

I had some women try and pray for me, i told her to get lost. she drove a jaguar xj6, like 2008 or 2009, all she had to offer me was a pray. GTF away you biatch!

i know i am not a religious man that prays and kneels night and day, but i believe when i pray...
all the things becomes as easy as a play...LoL

Praying never seems to work, especially when you REALLY need it to. Like when your father dies and your whole family prayed till they were blue in the face for months.

Plus, we really have no idea who the hell we're praying to! Slight problem, don't 'ya think? We could be praying to deceptive entities that are feeding off our grief and fear. I don't trust anything we've been fed...

It has been my experience and I believe that God doesn't want your prayers but your love instead. To pray usually entails 'asking' for something where as loving you give and he'll repay you in kind, usually in ways only He "knows" you need. These gifts also usually far out way the mundane things we usually pray for anyway.

Well put. I don't pray myself but hear certain teachers bunch it in with the words intention and meditation. I can only relate to intention and know for sure it does work but I'm not asking for anything, I'm creating with intention and perhaps should be focusing with meditation. My mind has calmed significantly but I still have yet to get really serious with it.

Take time out to pray to God everyday. Buy yourself a journal and write in it every night to him. Thank him for your blessings. Ask him about anything and everything. Tell him all your fears. Draw closer to him and you will see your prayers start to be answered and peace take over your fears.

Worse. I'm not a Christian, but I do believe in a Creator. Ever since I was a child, I would talk to "God" until I fell asleep. I've never asked for anything for myself unless I was in desperate need of some assistance. It always seemed like my prayers were answered and help was always received. For the last 3 years, it's been one bad thing after another. I can't seem to catch a break no matter what I do. And it seems like the harder I pray, the worse things get.

I just don't get it. I've always been grateful for the good things in my life. I live by the golden rule, so I don't see how I've got any bad karma catching up with me. I keep trying to figure out what kind of lesson I need to learn from this, but for the life of me, I don't know what it would be. I used to have a positive attitude and I believed that everything would eventually work out okay if I just endured the hard times for awhile. Now, I don't know what the hell to believe.

I know several people who lie, cheat, harm others, etc., and it seems like everything goes their way. Everything always works out for them. They always seem to end up on top. It has me questioning everything I've ever believed in. I'm starting to feel that this world is evil and is ruled by some evil entity, because it seems like good and decent people are the ones who suffer and those who commit evil acts seem to thrive.

I find it comforting to give thanks before I ask God for anything. It works for me.

I suggest you just thank God for your current state, good or bad, because there is purpose to it, the welfare of your family and friends and all of His people, and tell Him that you trust Him to provide for all your needs.

Citing a blessing you remember specific to each day also helps because it lets Him know you are paying attention and not just going through the motions.

Don't waste your time asking for petty nonsense that will ultimately leave you empty.

Better, my life has gotten better when I pray and ask God for help, AND WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE MYSELF FOR THE BETTER, WHEN I CHANGED MYSELF FOR REAL, THAT IS WHEN THE GOOD THINGS HAPPENED.

It cannot hurt for heaven's sake.

Just because u pray does not mean u are going to get what u want.

God may feel u will be better off not to get it.

The thing is to start a dialogue with the Source of Your Soul...it is best to get to know your Maker.

when we pray, satan does come against us only because if we are praying in gods will for our lives he wants to discourage us before we get our break through.. let me encourage you to press on and do not give up.. and God our creator, our heavenly father is the God we should be praying to, in the name of Jesus ...

Have you ever accepted Christ as your savior.. Jesus said in the bible that no man cometh to the father except through him.. we must ask forgiveness and confess our sins to the lord and know that he is the son of the living god.. and have faith.. life is better.. even when bad things to happen you will still have access to the peace that passeth all understanding that the bible talks about...
