Anonymous Coward User ID: 1088542 New Zealand 09/16/2010 08:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | you can get a CD with a Linux OS sent to you for $5 (Ubuntu is best), or download an ISO image and burn it to a disk, or just download it to your hardrive and install - it does everything or you including creating a seperate partition so you have the choice to boot using windows or linux or you can download a version that doesnt even need to be installed, like PuppyLinux, and boot straight from a memory stick or CD |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1096458 United States 09/16/2010 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Create a seperate partition and install it on there. If you're running XP it will take you to the choose OS menu, after you install it. Why do you want to install them together? I usually install either or but not both on the same system most times that sucks! |

DaJavoo User ID: 1099386 United States 09/16/2010 08:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Opie, just get a disc from any of the latest Linux/Ubuntu computer magazines ~ they usually have several distros that will boot from the disc. And...they will have plenty of instructions for a dual-boot setup. If you cannot afford a magazine (around 10 bux) just borrow an older one from a friend, load that distro and then you can update it once you are up and running online. :DJrebelli: |
