What will tattooed people do when the tattoo FAD ends (all fads do come to an end)

Only those who got tattoos to be a part of the fad will be affected.

A 'FAD'? I dont think so. My dad is in his 80's, got a tattoo in the Navy when he was in his teens.

Fast forward 2012, one of his grandchildren wanted to get a tattoo and he threatened that they would no longer be welcome in the house to visit if they did.

What a bunch of crap. I mean how do you fight that kind of double standard?

No, I am actually a non-conformist, so I wouldnt wear the crappy styles of clothes sold at malls, and as well I definitely wouldnt wear a crappy semi-permanent tattoo.

I just wanted to get a reading of what y'all think about tattoos.

I totally understand how someone could desire to get a tattoo, but it seems like most people get butt-ass ugly poorly executed, nasty looking ones (like all those hideous tramp stamps ), and IMHO probably most are people are getting them to follow the pack because its "cool"

I would be more concerned with what all the fat asses will do when the obesity fad is over. So many people I see in public are unbelievably overweight. Sorry people, but fat is NOT beautiful.

For hundreds of years tattoos were exclusively reserved for 3 kinds of people:

Sailors
Prison inmates
Whores.

There is no double standard.

How come you only see the lower working class with tatoos? You never see a lawyer, engineer, upper management, doctors, etc., with tatoos. Just those who lives are controlled by the mass media.

As if the average tattoo wearer could afford removal ..

This stupid fad can not end soon enough. I am shocked that so many people do not think of limiting consequences, such as career ops or dating pool . Then again, idiots still start smoking with all the dangers. Hmmm coincidence or not but many tat people are also smokers. Sounds to me these are the insecure of our society that follow the crowd.

I know 2 female docs with tats, one with a nose piercing, and a male neurosurgeon with tats, an earring, and long hair. Of course I do live in Illinois, I don't know if that's anything to do with it....? Our "upper-class" are all swingers and cokeheads. Not judging, just saying.
