Kurzweil: Computers Will Enable People To Live Forever
this is an old article from November of 2006..even though it's from four years ago I think it's probably more relevant today since we are further down the timeline..

I am especially concerned because some of the major players in Nanotechnology appear to have direct ties to Agenda 21..

The inventor, author, and futurist predicts that in 15 to 30 years, nanobots will roam our blood streams fixing diseased or aging organs, computers will back up our human memories, and conference calls will be replaced by meetings in virtual resorts.

<snip>

"A $1,000 worth of computation in the 2020s will be 1,000 times more powerful than the human brain," says Kurzweil, adding that in 25 years we'll have multiplied our computational power by a billion. "Fifteen years from now, it'll be a very different world. We'll have cured cancer and heart disease, or at least rendered them to manageable chronic conditions that aren't life threatening. We'll get to the point where we can stop the aging process and stave off death."

Kurzweil isn't writing science fiction. In fact, Microsoft's Bill Gates, a robotics director at Carnegie Mellon University, an MIT professor, and a physicist have all endorsed his book. He has received the National Medal of Technology and the Lemelson-MIT prize. The directors of the National Institute of Health have asked him to speak to their members. Kurzweil says he's simply looking back and measuring the computational progress the human race has made over the last century and then projecting that same line of progress forward into the near future.

In July 1992, mere days before he was announced as a vice presidential candidate, Al Gore held hearings on “New Technologies for a Sustainable World”, which included the testimony of “father of nanotechnology” Eric Drexler. Parts of this excerpt were included in Ed Regis’ book Nano,

On June 26, 1992, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation's Subcommittee on Science, Technology, and Space held a hearing on the topic of "New Technologies for a Sustainable World." Dr. Eric Drexler, Chairman of the Foresight Institute and Research Fellow of the Institute for Molecular Manufacturing, was invited to testify on molecular nanotechnology. The following is the written testimony he submitted; a later issue will cover the oral portion.

 Quoting: Cypher 1045282

Agenda 21, the UN blueprint for global transformation, sounds good to many well meaning people. Drafted for the purpose of creating "sustainable societies", it has been welcomed by nations around the world. Political, cultural, and media leaders have embraced its alluring visions of social justice and a healthy planet. They hide the lies behind its doomsday scenarios and fraudulent science. Relatively few consider the contrary facts and colossal costs.

After all, what could be wrong with preserving resources for the next generation? Why not limit consumption and reduce energy use? Why not abolish poverty and establish a global welfare system to train parents, monitor intolerance, and meet all our needs? Why not save the planet by trading cars for bikes, an open market for "self-sustaining communities," and single dwellings for dense "human settlements" (located on transit lines) where everyone would dialogue, share common ground, and be equal?

The answer is simple. Marxist economics has never worked. Socialism produces poverty, not prosperity. Collectivism creates oppression, not freedom. Trusting environmental "scientists" who depend on government funding and must produce politically useful "information" will lead to economic and social disaster

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions."

getting back to the original post and title of this thread imo it was prophesised in Isaiah 65:20 which says:

Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
he who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere youth;
he who fails to reach [a] a hundred
will be considered accursed.

Interesting, but it will never happen. The elite will not let us live forever, they are trying to do the exact opposite. They already have mind-blowing cures and this life-extension technology, they are not going to let the people have it. They want us to choke economically and physically.

Who the fuck would want to live forever in such an idiotic, painful, sickly, hell hole anyway.

Kurzweil is an Organic Portal with no sentient consciousness, because he cant understand what consciousness is and that if you download data from a brain into a machine then start the machine, that person would wake up inside of the machine

OP is also an organic portal with no actual consciousness

Interesting to note that if you ask kurzweil what happens if you transfer a brain with the person still alive then start up the machine, which would the person feel himself in, the machine or original brain - he ignores questions like that because he cant understand what a consciousness is, being he doesnt have one

It's funny how these elitists and eugenecists are obsessed with both depopulation AND immortality. OK so we replace humans with computer programs that can run forever? And then what? How silly this is. It's important for you all to understand that only God can resurrect flesh and blood mortals into immortality. All of this eugenics is from Satan and that it's why it's all about death to humans and immortality to them. The elitists think they will live forever but they are just useful idiots in Satans work.

Old theory. For example, it was behind <i>The Physics of Immortality</i>. And though computers were not the thing in the 19th century, Fedorov thought there would be a way to create "resurrection science" which would end up with humanity living forever and taking over the universe.

I was simply going to say these scientists prove having a high IQ is no guarantee you're not stupid as a rock, but your answer is even better. Correct and to the point.

Organic Portal's trying to crack the code of what it means to have a Soul/consciousness. How quaint.

No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.
Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points.
