Thought this was a pretty interesting video concerning the price of silver.

Any thoughts?

"Joining the military does not mean that you will be defending the country. The purpose of the U.S. military should be to defend the United States. Period. Yet, one of the greatest myths ever invented is that the current U.S. military somehow defends our freedoms. First of all, our freedoms are not in danger of being taken away by foreign countries; if they are taken away it will be by our own government. It is not a country making war on us that we need to fear, it is our government making war on the Bill of Rights. And second, how is stationing troops in 150 different regions of the world on hundreds of U.S. military bases defending our freedoms? It is not the purpose of the U.S. military to change regimes, secure the borders of other countries, or spread democracy at gunpoint. The Department of Defense should first and foremost be the Department of Homeland Security."--Laurence Vance--

Re: The Curious Case For $936 Ounce Silver
IT DOES NOT APPLY TO GOLD HERES WHY...

Central banks hold tons of gold. Yes they manipulate via paper instruments, but at some point the central banks working in NWO concert will dump physical onto the market. Today the international bankers also manipulate silver via paper. When the silver shortage negates paper this will cancel effectiveness of the gold paper. Investors will run to silver. The bankers at this point dump gold to buy back later for cheap.

Safety is in the industrial commodity silver, because the bankers do not own tons of it.

Re: The Curious Case For $936 Ounce Silver
Here you are wrong, at least in the long term. Why? Because the fractional reserve lending of gold is based on an ever available production or mining of gold. The fractional reserve lending has outpaced production now by multiple values. Now the ratio is anywhere from 45 to 100. That means, in real terms for the main players they are exchanging in real terms gold at around $58,000 per ounce. As long as real production can lend some credibility to the ponzi scheme it's all a gentlemens bet between elites right? But what happens when gold production is falling in the face of hyperinflation of the monetary base? Short or naked short positions even on one contract (100 ounces) would cost $5.8 million to procure the contract in physical terms and that cost is escalating.

At some point it is exactly what Mises referred to as a crisis in confidence, or in this case a crisis in confidence in the confidence game itself. It will be time to pick up the ball and go home for the elites who will wrangle to secure their physical from the warehouses. Now the value in gold lies not in it sitting in some dusty warehouse, the value in gold lies in it's use or it's function as a medium of exchange. But what the elite have done is effectively eliminated that potential, the potential of it's exchange by leveraging the paper markets to their advantage. They destroyed money, and they think they have all the money, if you have all of nothing what do you have?

Re: The Curious Case For $936 Ounce Silver
Like oil, gold production has picked all the low lying fruit. Right now it costs about $500/ounce to extrude one ounce of gold from the ground. New veins or potential production/mining ore veins are of much poorer quality thus production costs are rising and production quantity is dropping. For as long as the recent run of gold, gold production has been dropping 12% annually.

Very true; my thing is no matter if the dollar collapes, they will have another reserve currency set in place and the price will be manipulated back down again and the game will go on and on.

I knew that was a bogus figure and as with everything thing else with oil, metals, etc. it is all speculative pricing.

How are they going to value this new reserve currency with the current levels of debt (debt seniorage)? They cannot resolve the inherent structural problems. The fact is their greed has abused the fiat monetary structure, we would need a third world war for this to occur. Perhaps that is in the cards but I am confident that without a world war they cannot establish a new world reserve currency. Now, it may be possible for the BRIC and OPEC countries to succeed from the reserve currency system (the dollar) which they have already announced they will do, but initially at least it will have commodity backing meaning they are leaving the anglo saxon banking cartel in the dustbin of history. The NWO wants you to believe it wields unlimited power, but the reality is greed ultimately reaps it's own reward, that is destruction.

Silver gets its value as a commodity because of the industrial uses. Whether it be as a conductor, jewelry, photography, or coins of "The Empire".

I don't care if you have a few guns in your little personal arsenal, if the economy goes Mad Max this time, there will be little if any industrial production, and the later won't be implemented by the PTB.

Besides, if you hold any significant amounts and try to trade from your stash, you will not survive the masses kicking in your door.

All of these silverbugs and goldbugs forget that the government has the ability to curtail their trades.

Gold was confiscated and sales were effectively banned for decades.
The Silver runup when the Hunt Brothers tried to corner the market ended quickly when the government stopped trade in buying silver for a time, only sales were permitted.
