The problem though is MORE people OUT OF WORK!

It simply continues the downward spiral and more people lose their jobs, homes and may go hungry. I know how you feel on a personal level, but working at Blockbuster/Hollywood Video ect, vs. 20 people NOT working as they stare at a kiosk is not good for the economy.

Also, in addition to employing people (retail organizations) the IMPULSE buys such as gasoline, soda, popcorn, snacks will continue to go down putting even MORE people out of work.

I too have used netflix and redbox, but I would rather see someone employed than have to fight with a machine that can't even figure out how to deal with my Disk that didn't play. Same with groceries and having to BAG your own...now some places ONLY let you bag your own (no cashier after such and such and hour)...WHY should I bag, scan and pay without a discount? ;-)

My friends used to call Blockbuster "Buttbombers" because every time we went into a block buster video we all started farting. It was like some supernatural fart fest EVERY TIME we went in there. They are an evil company and deserve bankruptcy.

Best we all go there and rent shit loads of x box games,films etc,cos they will only end up in the hands of the receivers.

I think everyone that is not rich and more than $50,000 in debt should file chapter 7 bankruptcy and wipe the slate clean. Let the banks who have been robbing us with high interest rates take the loss.

Remember all those local privately owned mom and pop video stores back in the 80s ? We had about a dozen of em within a 10 mile square radius of my home. Once blockbuster came into the picture, everyone of those stores were shut down and had to close shop . They could not compete . Companies like blockbuster actually cause employment figures to go down...and then, after this type of company makes billions of dollars, they claim bankruptcy, and fuk the system again and now the jobs held by smaller mom and pop stores are gone, along with the jobs once available thru blockbuster.

SPOT THE SCAM...SEE THE SCAM...TAKE NOTE OF WHOS RUNNING THE SCAM...

AND THEN MAYBE , WE CAN STOP THE WHOLESALE RAPING OF AMERICA.

About a month ago, we wrote about reports that Blockbuster Video would be filing for bankruptcy in mid-September. So it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that Bloomberg News is reporting that the video chain will be making the filing official on Thursday morning.

actually...you got it all wrong...

its companys like BLOCKBUSTER thatcame along and put countless people out of work , because it destroyed so many millions of small video stores across the U.S , that were unable to compete with a corrupt powerhouse like blockbuster .
