i have a McDonalds cheeseburger in its wrapper on top of the fridge, it like 4 years old now, its rock hard but thats it. i bet it could be eaten.
you can put a tub of margerine out. it will NEVER go rancid or decay in any way. the only bugs that will be into it are ones that get stuck in it and die. no maggots.
