Freemasons want me to join
Simple story I guess, a freemason asked me to join, invited me to the lodge. They said if I paid them $100 dollars a year and went through some silly rituals I could join.

Opinions? I had a really weird dream and decided not to call them back.

Not openly recruiting. He sad "A Freemason asked me to join". He then went on to say "They said" so he is clearly just talking out his little fantasies.

Re: Freemasons want me to join
As a mason myself. I can only say it is a fantastic organization. The money is dues to the lodge. But if you can show you can not afford it, you don't have to pay it.

The rituals are a little strage for someone who doesn't understand the meaning behind them. Their purpose is to teach you how to be a better man, a better husband, and how to love and care for all.

The main thing is you must believe in God and are willing to follow his teachings. But you can be of any religion or faith.

Masons are brothers, like blood brothers.........who stick by each other and care for each other, unto death according to the rituals. Yea, a little extreme but you get the point.

If you go thru and become a shiner, you have a blast...you can be a clown, drive funny little crs, play in the band....whatever.......but the main purpose here is to offer free medical services to unfortunate children with crippling problems..re: shriners hospital

Of course........your decision, but it's a fantastic group that you can be proud to belong to.

I you had to defend a mason brother who is being accused by a non-mason of something illegal, would you do it?

Would you still do it if you knew the accusations are true?

I can basically do the same by joining any charity group, without the requirement to buy tons of regalias, meet in secret, participate in rituals while I don't fully understand the power of rituals. But eh, it feels so cool to be a part of a team. Plus the dinners with all the brothers are super fun =)

Do the rituals effect the psyche in any immediate way, like psychomagick? or is it simply to 'teach', because I've heard a lot of comments on the rituals saying it is 'magnificent' and nothing more..

Does it hurt when I hit that spot?

You said : "Their purpose is to teach you how to be a better man, a better husband, and how to love and care for all."

So I don't think answering that question should be difficult? Or is it because it contradicts the sentence about "blood brothers"?

ALL rituals work at an subconscious level, call that "magick" if you want but know that there are rituals in all religions.

Saying it is simply to teach is incomplete. It DOES have other effects, the thing is to know what effects and to answer that we would need to have a precise descriptions of all the various rituals they practice, to understand the first level of meaning, as well as all the subsequent symbolic layers.

Who designed the modern rituals for the Scottish rite? Albert Pike?

Personally, although against the pledge if a fellow mason commited a crime, I would say he was guilty...

It is teaching only........this is not a mental reprogamming...

We have a blast....way too much liquor though...Masons love bar-b-que's,beer, and liquor. Plus they are away from their wives!

Why the belief in God requirement?

Perhaps it is because those who claim a belief in the supernatural are gullible, programmable, and disposable.

Because some (many?) of their teachings are spiritual?

But there are other lodges/rites where it isn't required. But probably not that common in the US, more present in other countries.

Re: Freemasons want me to join
Find out everything you can about the local lodge. Most masons are ok but be prepared to do some nasty things, ie organised stalking etc, in order to protect the local community (reputation of local ptb).
Did you get asked the "do you believe in god" question ?. Its an interesting rabbit hole with their mythology, so have an open mind. I could tell you more but power about to die on mobile.
Ill ask a friend to post their views on the subject, he has summed it up as an extension of the school yard gang culture and forever having to open his wallet for good causes, lol he's a tight arse sometimes.
