I pity all the slave drones who drag themselves into work every morning. Poor bastards! I wake up around 11 am every day, and its always a choice. I can always go back to bed if I wish. If only you poor saps could live my wonderful life....well actually you can, if you wanted to. some call you a visionary...LMAO, you're a lazy person with no future. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1043103 12/03/2010 11:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm with you too OP, but the thing is that it's so frowned upon in our society. I mean my own family is telling me to go out and get a job or go to college. They call me lazy and whatnot and I even came to the point of considering I might have a mental illness since I have no motivation to do anything with my life. What to do? Advice anyone? I'm not necessarily "happy" with it. I mean, I like it but with all the stress from everyone criticizing me it really hurts. And plus: what am I going to do when no one is around to support me? Live in the streets? |

I have nobody who understands me and my life philosophy (yours and the OPs philosophy as well). I don't need all the crap that the "average American" works live a dog everyday in their life to get. For what? What's the point? We're all going to die anyway and are we really going to be happy knowing we wasted our lives working instead of doing the things we enjoy deep inside? Free time is invaluable, IMO. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1123269 12/04/2010 12:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP I admire where you're going with this, I really do. In a way I'm similar, I try to not get caught up in the materialistic rat-race bullshit. I do however work enough to support myself and I have an apartment. I work 40 hrs a week avoiding OT as much as possible, at a low stress and easy job. I say stick with the mindset that makes you happy, but realize that the reality of this system is that you have three options: 1. Work to support yourself and/or family, 2. Be able to live off the grid, self sustained without the need for money, 3. Be homeless and live off handouts. You can't live off the support of your parent forever, so at some point you will have to sustain yourself and when you do, try at least to do something you enjoy. If you work a job you hate, something that really doesn't make you happy, then move on. Life isn't worth living being a miserable slave. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 946411 12/04/2010 12:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Although I know what I'm doing right now sure as hell is happiness, but I rather do this than work my ass off and be miserable or go to school and pay all of my work money just for tuition to learn about meaningless b.s. and accumulate debt after graduation... just to make my family happy that I "went to college" no thanks.. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 985009All that b.s. you don't want to do is what it means to be a real man. A real man may never pick up a knife or a gun, or drive a tractor, or operate a chain saw, or do anything that requires being tough and burly. But he is still a real man if he does his duty with grace and fortitude, not crumbling under the load, always getting up when life and circumstances knock him down. That is a real man. A real man may not have tough hands, but he will have a tough spirit that rises to the high calling of duty. It is not about being macho; it is about taking responsibility. Sometimes a man has to do what is unpleasant. That is the demarcation line. Boys stop and look for sympathy and understanding, while the men keep going into territory where it gets hard, painful, and more than that, boring—sickeningly and painfully boring. But they go resolutely on and do it because it has to be done. Men don’t put it off until tomorrow, that nebulous time where it is certain to never get done; they knuckle down and do their duty today. That is a real man. |

There are no good paying jobs as there were 30 years ago. Afterall you could be making serious cash and being productive even if working for yourself. Not really an option any longer. And as far as the wife and kids go, that is for someone with options. |

I agree, most people work just because they think they should, they live in an energy and spiritual growth consuming loop. I do not know how you manage to live without work, but i could at least advice most people to work only 3 days in the week and live humble to connect with them selves and nature again. And also not to get tangled up in a strangling relation taking even more of your personal spiritual time, it's a great natural relaxing way to meet with the peace again most of the western society totally forgot about. And remember this is not he end, your freedom will become larger and larger if you allow it, then go off the human grid and then totally live on the love grid. thanks for sharing. Viva la Freedom! |

I have the same lifestyle as you, BUT unlike you, I'm actually ashamed of myself and feel that my generation will be known as the worst generation that ever lived... Don't feel ashamed man, it starts with loving who you are without the idea you have to do, be or help anyone. You are good as you are, what can one do or mean for society if you can't even love the very fundamentals of who or what you are in the first place??? Start from the ground up, only love can make your day, not the amount of money, friends or kind of job you have. If you don't like the way you live, try to feel and connect with peace, don't just internet all day, take some time of, visit nature, meditate and most important feel good about your self no matter what you do. Put some passion and will behind that love, only then new inspiration and the appropriate change can come. peace |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1183712 12/04/2010 07:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree, the life I live isn't meant for everyone, but it can be available for everyone in the future, if society came together now to create a self-sustaining, super efficient system that provided each individual with all the necessities of life. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1113077Future technology will make this possible, and then everyone can live a wonderful life like me. We already had this. It was called nature, we ruined it though. Back in the day in the Americas people weren't struggling to survive. The native indians had access to all the food they could ever eat, there were millions of buffalos, beavers, salmon etc. and only thousands of humans. Very little energy and effort would go into procuring food. This system was self-sustaining and super efficient, as long as people only took from nature what they needed and gave back what they could. Because of high biodiversity, fatal bacteria and viruses weren't prevalent. Because all food was organic and there weren't any chemicals and other crap in the food, chronic health problems were minimal. The only health risks were infant mortality and accidents like breaking your leg or something. Then civilization came, and the rest is history. The future technology solution hypothesis is a pipe dream and will never amount to anything. We're pretty much fucked. So yeah, enjoy what you have NOW. |

I have decked my room out in goodies - triple 24" PC gaming setup, 130" projector hooked up to the comp, 4 guitars, keyboard, grow cabinet bla bla bla, I have the best of everything right here & everytime I leave the house I'd rather just be at home getting blazed on the pc or playing guitar.
